I got the same thing too, my billing address is different from the shipping address

mines the same address for billing and shipping, but my account is under my dads name because when i opened it 2 yrs ago i didn't have the money to pay a deposit. I was planning on taking liability of the account after i got my phone. I don't think that would be the problem though. I have more than enough money in my account and it still shows the $1 hold on my account. I'll post what CS says in the morning as soon as i get off the phone with them. Hope they'll have a decent answer as to why this is happening. We'll see :rolleyes:

well i'm not using my own card either, i'm using my grandmothers because my Mother f'ed up my personal bank account(which was linked so she can put money in, since i'm away and i opened the account in high school) and i have no where to store my money

I just really hope that it's because they aren't shipping tonight, cause that could make sense, since it says check tomorrow when they could ship it. but who knows

Sorry, I guess I could have worded it better - The bank account is in my name but the phone account is under my dads line of credit, so technically it's his account with VZW, but I'm the only one that uses it. I set myself up as an account manager though (i am the one paying the bill after all :p) so I shouldnt have any problem sending the phone to my address and using my card.

I'm thinking it might be my Capital One card. They are always denying big charges we try to make (not because we are over our limit but because they are trying to sniff out fraud). Plus I have my Verizon bill set up on auto pay to my credit card and it is paid on the 24th so now a second, approximately $200, charge is trying to go thru and the powers that be at Cap One said this seems strange, let's just decline it. UGH!!
 
And order numbers after mine ARE being shown as processed according to someone on the other thread. So, its not because they aren't shipping any more today...

im with capital one too but they've never stopped a charge on me before. and ive made purchases that cost a lot more than the $199 i paid here. it will be weird if they decide to stop this one.
 
When do they do the credit check? at check out, or at some period later?

not sure when they do the credit check. im assuming during the processing. because once it's processed you're good to go - the money either gets taken from your account or added to your bill.
 
Mine was with a Bank of America VISA Debit card with moooooore then enough funds on it, so I don't think it's the particular banks. :(
 
i've been reading online about Verizon's credit check policies and have found that it is common for VZW to ask for a deposit up to $400 (especially for people with no credit [like me] or bad credit) that is refunded at the end of a 12 month period. just something to keep in mind...

yeah, thats what i will be doing when i switch the account into my name. but, the only people i could see that affecting is new vzw customers. returning customers already had their credit check and, if needed, paid the deposit. so i dont see why it would affect order status like this.
 
My credit card company told me that there have been no charge attempts made to my card today. I'm guessing that these orders will process in the morning.
 
It just doesn't make any sense that they would need to do credit checks on those of us who A. are already existing members, B. are using the same form of payment we use to pay our bills every month, and C. pay nearly the EXACT same amount every. single. month. as their monthly billing statement as the cost of this phone! :p (My monthly statements ran me about $95-$105 every month on my Blackberry for the last couple of years).

well i'm f'ed then i'm not paying a 400 dollar deposit
also if my theory is right(about the not shipping until tomorrow thing) i'm pretty sure anybody's order who was over 32748x shouldn't have got it is shipped and you will get it in 2-3 days
but nobody is posting there numbers

The software that are using which does the checkout process is a " one shot " process. In other words anything complicated gets skipped to " queue ". So an actual rep has to do the process manually.

I develop softwares for different corps. So when you order, it " identifies " the charge card/debit card. Sometimes they use the default " $1 " option or sometimes there is no hold.

To save time, it "hits" the order only once, if it does not go thru, it puts it in a problem log ( which the queue ).

There is always a %5 system error 9 due to small bugs in the software which is acceptable under the % 95 success rate.

Remember sometimes at supermarkets you wait longer at the checkout. Thats because of that pos transaction. In a NHC ( VZW uses that ) If the " hit " takes longer to comeback it just skips it to problem log.

I have had this status since yesterday afternoon. I have been a customer of Verizon for 13 years and have never had issues with payment. I am using the Chase account I always use to pay my bills, so I'm not sure what that status means. I am having it shipped to my home address like I always do, which is the same as the billing address. Nothing is different about this than any of the other phones I've ordered from them over the years. I used my NE2 discount and the total was approx. $108, which has not yet been billed to my bank. I am upgrading from a BB Pearl. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that when I ordered my new phone, they wanted me to check a box to add 250 texts/month. I left it blank due to the advice I got here, because I already have an unlimited texting plan.

Hopefully we'll all get this figured out tomorrow when Verizon is back to work, as well as our banks.

Maybe "Check back tomorrow" means that "since you're such a great and loyal customer, keep an eye out for the FedEx guy tomorrow." Haha, wishful thinking.

thanks for the info! you just got me pretty hopeful that i wont have to cancel and order again. by any chance do you know what these "complications" might be?
