Root please help - cant find instructions for shabbykernel

I cant find the instructions on how to install shabbykernel! I looked at it a while ago and I swear it disappeared!

Kernel version does not change. If you read farther in you can test if it worked by typing into terminal emulator that string and see if there is a number result.

I just replied to your other message . Shabbykernel is a zip file . You do not need to unzip it . Odin will do that for you . ;)

i curious about this "kernel" that closes a "backdoor" (im terrible, i know),
i have the Odin Multi Downloader.. and i have the SPHM820.ops and Boot.img.... So do i need anything else?? should the phone be restarted when i start Odin like w/ shabbymod?? because i dont see a yellow download bar.. plus i dont see a file called shabbykernel..

i had no problems rooting my phone but this is killing me.. i would like to see improved battery life.. plus im tethering and am kinda scrrd.
btw i will you beer!!!

better wait on the beer for shabby, he and his SO just had a baby he will want a clear head for a while. :D
As to the problem your having.
Shabby has a "test" kernel that you can download it is a "compressed" file that includes boot.img.
To use odin you need to shut your phone off, then press and hold the camera button located on the right side(as your looking at the screen) and the volume up button on the top left side then press an hold the power button if you hold all three you will see the word downloading in yellow appear on your screen, that is the point that you can connect the usb and start running odin.
You take that .ops file and place it in the correct spot then put the compressed shabbykernel into the PDA spot and press start.
You may get an error that says not a valid image, ignore it and press start again it will run through its thing and reboot the phone it may take a while. 10 mins possibly at that point it should say pass and the phone should reboot into normal phone system.
