Help PLEASE HELP! Major problem with camera!!

Having major issues trying to take pictures in low-light/semi-dark environments. When I am in a low light or darker place, just trying to look through to take the picture, it is so dark I can't even see the subject I am trying to take a picture of. And this is not in a dark area, just medium to low light and darker. Please what am I doing wrong? I haven't talked to anyone else who has this problem, they all say it takes great pictures and no problem seeing the subject in low light environments. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. I just want to be able to use it when I am out with friends and don't want to drag a separate camera with me. Please please reply back to me and/or email me at deltag24@aol.com. Thank you so much!

Sprint HTC EVO running FROYO, as is from Sprint, nothing fancy done to it. Also are there any camera apps that might help me in these situations???

Change your iso to a higher setting.

Look around the forums....there are a few threads with great picture taking tips. In the end remember this is a camera phone....and that even most entry-mid level point and shoot cameras are not going to do well in dark situations either. Lighting is like step 1 in camera 101
