just some apps i use that i would suggest,titanium backup,if you can afford the 6 USD investment for the PRO version,i did.its definitely a must have.
alot of folks recommend root explorer,that makes it as easy as click copy and paste for those essential system apps that you're mentioning wanting in your current setup(keyboards,etc.)
also,id suggest CTMod for a ROM.i wanted to run the halfassrom,but struggled to get Kouma Kernel and SSM/Data setup to work w/o Force closes/boot loops.
just thought id throw my two cents in from experience.
