Root Please help!! OS X Rooting Problem!

I have been a member of this forum for a while now (ever since I've owned my Connect 2 months ago.) I'm not too savvy with the phone terminology, but with a little investigation I think I make out what's being said for the most part.

I've been trying to root my Connect for two months now! No luck. I keep getting to the same point and I don't know what to do next.

Here's my deal: I'm on a Mac, and I can't figure out the commands to "run" the run.sh file in the terminal. And I'm not sure if I need a driver or what??

I've downloaded the spectrum_root_linux_osx files... I'm doing "something" in the terminal window, what exactly, I have no idea!
