Root Please help! Sd wont mount

I hope someone can help. I've read other threads but found none with my exact problem.

I have a EVO 4G and my friend rooted it and put the MIUI Rom on it. It was working perfectly for about 2 weeks and yesterday it shut off and would not turn back on. I removed the battery and turned it back on. It started up but now will not mount my SD Card. It simply keeps the SD icon in the notification bar and says "Preparing SD Card" but doesn't do anything. The SD card is not damaged in any way. When I go into recovery I can view everything on the SD card just fine. Also the SD card will not pull up when I plug USB into the computer either.

Anyone have any ideas?

go into recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache
