Root please Help x looping

ok so i rooted my phone earlier tonight and then i tried to install a black notification bar and my phone wont get past the droid eye on the reboot screen then it starts over but never gets past the eye .i have tried to wipe cache and factory reset to no avail.my x wont even register to the computer when plugged in......please help

were you running the OTA 2.2?
was your rom deodexed?
you need to be deodexed to flash the themes.

no i was not deodexed and yes i did have the 2.2 ota now im kicking myself in the ass

whatever you do, don't sbf to the 2.1.

you need to follow the instructions here. TBH announces Froyo System SBF and RSDLite 4.8

0nly problem here is the instructions say to put my device in pc mode and i cant even get past the boot screen?

Power Down Phone
Start in Bootloader (camera, volume down, power on)
Connect USB
Start RSD Lite
Select SBF and begin?

ive tried installing the black bar twice now and each time i get stuck at the M. do a battery pull and restart and im good to go. why cant i get it to work? im pretty sure 0.3 blurry is deodexed...
