I am new here, but I really need someone's help, because my Android Device has a virus. I had a friend who had a virus and pop up ads like me and he installed a new android, can someone please help me do the same thing? I have Android 6.0 and i am using the Ulefone Metal. i really need help because I have so many pop up ads

Format your mobile phone. That is, perform a clean wipe. Please backup your data before data wipe ! . If you can access the settings of your phone, then its fine. Go to Settings > Backup & Reset > Format Data Reset > Tap Reset Phone > Choose Erase Everything..... Phone will be back to normal with all data wiped.

If you can't access your settings....

  1. At the very beginning turn off your device using the Power button.
  2. Then press and hold together Volume Up and Power key for a few seconds.
  3. Release held keys as soon as you see the ULEFONE icon.
  4. Next, use Volume buttons in order to select "wipe data/factory reset" and tap the Power button to confirm.
  5. Choose "yes" from the menu, and accept it with Power button.
  6. When a Recovery Mode appears again on the screen accept option "reboot system now" using Power button.
  7. Success. Data wipe complete. Now use your phone as normal.

On model number it says Metal. There is also like an unaccesable app called Calculator and that is the name of the virus. I also still get pop up ads. after hard reseting twice

You can also try clearing the cache and data on your web browser under Settings > Apps. This may have been done already with a factory reset but it's still worth a shot and only takes a minute of your time.

After a factory reset the data of the browser too will be wiped. As she means, the "VIRUS" has affected her phone. Reinstalling a ROM cures that .
 
Good day all.
I have a Sony Xperia Z Performance F8131 with Android 6.0.1 I don't know if others have been having this issue or not as I could not find any posts on the specific problem I was having.

The problem was; every time I ended a call no matter how long or short it was, I'd get a pop up ad, right in the middle of my screen taking up most of the screen. I searched on here for answers for a few days and tried a few things I thought might help. Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked and there was no post that covered my specific issue. So I am going to post the solution I found to correct this issue.

Again the issue was; after every single phone call I made if end up getting a great big pop up ad right in the center of my screen.

If you have recently downloaded an app called "Drop" it's all in the settings. Open the app log in if you haven't already select settings along the top bar scroll down to notifications and turn off the option "I have a new offer"

This solution should work for everyone as long as they have the app in question.

Hope this post helps anyone with the same issue!
