Since updating to 2.2, when i add a shortcut to someone's contact info by (holding finger on screen>shortcut>contact>John Doe) it does not use the picture. Instead I just get the "shadow outline thingy" for their picture, even though the picture is still there in contacts app.

I keep losing ringtones.

I'll have a song set for someone, phone rings, and its a completely different song! I've reset it 3x now....

Never had a problem on 2.1-

Ditto. Today is the first time I noticed it. I put the phone down, walked away and it started making this weird sound. I went to see what was up, and saw an incoming call. Hope that's not something that keeps coming up. One note, the caller had a different ringtone set up than my regular one.

Anyone notice their vibrate on email / sms doesnt work? mine def does not vibrate
It will vibrate on a phone call with it set to vibrate only, however, sms, and email do nothing on this setting.

hope this all gets sorted out soon, we waited SO long for thing and its STILL messed up

Battery Manager FC here and also when i go into settings and click DATA WHATEVER to enable/disable data services. It takes 5-10 seconds to come up after being tapped.

Haven't seen these issues anywhere yet.

1. I have the extended battery, 20-30 minutes after taking off charger, it's down to 70% without doing/running anything. Original batter actually last longer now, I used to use the heck out of the extended and now can't do anything with out it dropping way to quick.

2. MissedCallApp continually pops up with wait or forceclose (along with other apps).

3. Any browser closes itself after about 5 minutes of running about half the time.

4. Any where I need to used the keyboard, when I turn the phone sideways to get the larger keys, it almost never turns, I can use the keyboard that way. If it does eventually change, it take a while for the screen to turn.

I've tried to uninstall the few apps I did have, but to no avail. Wife's phone running same apps doesn't have any issues, other than she can't check her work email from the web browser (Outlook corp). She can log in, but can't do anything, open, send nada....

Still having issues with the music player. Damn thing tells me my MP3s aren't a compatible format after awhile. Need to restart the phone and it is really pissing me off! They really need to test this better before release. Probably explains the issues people are having with their ringtones too. I talked to VZW and they don't have a fix and I talked to Moto after that, no fix there either... Third party music players have the same issue.

Ironically, before Froyo, I couldn't get my texts or emails to vibrate when the phone was on vibrate, regardless of the settings. When I got the update, and without changing any settings, my texts and emails started to vibrate. Then again, so did phone calls (ring/vibrate combo). I want it to vibrate when in vibrate mode, and that's it, but it seems it either vibrates in any mode, or not at all. It's all jacked up!

I haven't had any problem..All I had to do was uninstall a few apps that were freezing up like folder organizer pro it crazed my phone and was making LP crash to, after I did that and did the compass now my phone is smooth Quadrant of 1432.

Define "crazed" the phone? My only complain with 2.2 for now is slower performance, mostly delay while flipping between screens or starting apps. That made me think about compatibility with current WidgetLocker and LauncherPro+ versions. Those haven't been updated for 2.2 optimization, I don't think so. Never thought about FolderOrganizer since I don't use it as often, but do have it installed. Might try uninstalling it than...

My bugs are f/c's on battery manager when you tap the battery icon. Music player. Can't add a speed dial from the dialer screen. These are after a factory reset.

+1. Factory reset also did not work for me. Only solution so far is a battery pull, waiting 5 minutes, and then restarting.

What did Verizon tell you? I may head to the store tomorrow too.

Anyone out there with a fix for this problem?

Not sure if you already took care of it but they sent me a replacement with zero questions asked - surprisingly easy. So if you havent done it already, just take it in and should send you a replacement

Not sure if they would with me, since i bought my droid on my g/f's account and then switched it to mine. they Told me i would have no warranty though VZW since it was technically "user provided" but ....

How lomg is it stuck at the "M" before you do the battery pull? Mine had SEVERAL bugs. I decided to see exactly how long it was going to stay on the M. I was actually going to take it to the Verizon store stuck on the M screen so they can see my exact problem (you know how things fix themselves as soon as you show someone). After 20+ minutes, my DX booted up on its own, and has been ALMOST flawless since. So I suggest leaving it on the M screen for at least 20 minutes. Let it work the bugs out on its own, rather than chase the bugs back into hiding. If that doesn't work, call *22899. If THAT doesn't work, call for a new phone.

Mine got stuck at the "M" for good after doing the OTA 2.2 upgrade. DL'd, installed, and upon reboot stopped at the "M". Tried several battery pulls, and letting it sit (for 90 mins at one point) and it just wouldn't go. Went to the VZW store that afternoon and a new one arrived the next morning. Since this was the first day of the OTA 2.2 they had no idea what do do with it, and any of their normal routes to get it going wouldn't work.

I don't know if it has been mentioned already but since upgrading my camera pictures look grainy. It definitely doesn't look like a high quality picture and that is after trying several settings. My camcorder is just as bad. Any known fixes or am I out of luck?

launcherpro is optimized for 2.2. there should be no reason why you would have a decrease in performance from upgrading 2.1 to 2.2. try a factory reset.

launcherpro is optimized for 2.2.

I am not sure this is a fair statement, I do have LPP but I noticed it is making the phone laggy specially the drawer, 3d drawer is smoother. I did battery pull and factory reset but nothing improved.

I removed LPP and trying the stock launcher then decided to go back or not.

There's teo different settings in your s sound menu that can cause this. Under "vibrate", there's a "vibrate only in silent mode" and a "vibrate only NOT in silent mode". The other one is at the bottom of the sound menu. If the box is checked, whenever your phone is face down, it will vibrate rather than ring. Or maybe you just have a glitch.

2.1 worked MUCH better on mine.

1. Lock screen lag is terrible on 2.2! On top of that, once it is unlocked, the very first swipe does nothing (every time).

2. Lag on switching screens is worse than 2.1.

anyone having problems with the speaker? i installed the update the day it came out, volume increased greatly, and this morning all of sudden my volume for ringtones is like a quarter what it was, with the setting on the phone all the way up. is it possible the speaker blew? and i know i didnt have it all the way up before, cause it was plenty loud. i also did a factory reset which didnt help.

Newb here. Main issues im having are texts not in order and my hotmail account not showing up on satus bar(or led blinking) when I receive emails. The Gmail account shows up though. Both used to show up before update. Anyone know anything about this?

Did the update while I was on a bus trip. Most of the time phone was on vibrate due to business conf. Notice the ff
- Battery was horrible. I used to last thru the end of day. The first day I was at that location, I lasted well into the evening, as a matter of fact I only plugged in after 12am to do the update on Tues when it became avail. After the update I'm at 10-20% by 3:00pm for the rest of the trip (charged till 7:30 am)
- slow response when I try to answer a phone call, or button not responding at all.
- didn't notice MP3 player issue, used DoubleTwist on the plane ride back.

Last night I finally had the chance to do a factory reset from the system menu. Did a sprite backup first. Then restore with sprite backup. So far the battery life seem to have addressed itself. Will wait a few day to double check. In case some bad setting got carried back.

One thought, right after the back up, I had move what ever app was movable to SD, the SD card that came with my X was a Class 2 card. Wonder if accessing apps from it took more energy and slower too. Can't test that out as I didn't think about it till today. I'm not moving anything right now until I have a good base line.

Pulling the battery fixed that for me, fyi.
