Please list Droid X froyo bugs, problems, glitches

This is minor, but nonetheless a bit of a PITA . . . I'm using the "default" music player and when I was setting up playlists, the app would occasionally lockup on me. The phone seemed to be O.K., I could go back to the main screen or start any other app. but the music player would just freeze. I'm not sure what was clearing the problem, either. It seems after a few seconds (approx. 30 to 45), the player would quit running and I could then restart it.

I've been using it just to play music and so far, no problems. Could be that I'm too button happy (to fast on pressing buttons instead of waiting for the phone to respond) . . .

Thanks - Dean

I have a ton of bugs on my DX ever since 2.2 was made available. Then again, it could be user error of not being able to navigate the settings. Not sure if LauncherPro Plus is causing these errors either. I did a hard reset and re-installed everything, and it is still buggy. I had zero issues before, so I am hating the 2.2 update as of now.

When unlocking, it always opens in landscape mode even if the phone is upright in portrait mode. I have to wiggle the phone to have it go to portrait mode.

When unlocking, it takes a while for the homepage to load. Everything is frozen for 5 to 10 seconds before being operational. There are times when it opens to a white screen. I am almost certain this is due to LauncherPro Plus. Even with LPP as the default launcher, it sometimes has issues with WidgetLocker.

Some apps take a bit of time to load.

WiFi needs to be toggled on and off if the phone is idle for more than 5 minutes to regain a connection.

I use SwitchPro to toggle the sound on/off. Sometimes when toggling the sound back on, the media sound stays muted. I go to AudioManager to manually turn it back on, and it stays muted. Stopped using SwitchPro to toggle sound, so I used the sliding thing on WidgetLocker to toggle the sound on/off. Same thing happens. Either both apps suck at toggling sound on/off or I have a bug somewhere.

My headphone jack is likely to be broken now.

Ive noticed since I did my SBF'ed, FC'ed and deleted a buncha stuff my X has been super fast
except, my weather apps are NOT updating their locations. Fancy Widget was stuck in Philly most of the day when i was in Boston on thursday. Finally got it to change when i uninstalled and reinstalled, but then it just left me blank. only seems to update now if I have it set to use GPS.
Weather bug is doing the same. Its set to 15 min updates and it never changes / updates the notification icon until I go to the app, then it "wakes up" and changes citys and temp.

Quick question -- I just did a factory reset as well because of constant freezes/reboots of my phone. However, I did not reinstall all of my previous apps until I see how well it's working. Did you do a mass-reinstall of all your apps immediately after resetting your phone? If not, you might try resetting it again and running the phone "light" (ie. w/out your nonessential apps) until you know how well it's running. It could be that your problem is with some app(s) that you reinstalled.

With all of the issues people are having w/the X, it might be good to pinpoint whether some apps (or configs that we are using) are causing at least some of the major headaches. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that uninstalling problem apps alone will always fix the problem without resetting and starting from scratch.

If you still had the problem before reinstalling your apps, please disregard this suggestion.

when I unplug my Droid X from my wall charger, my screen goes black with just the backlight glowing. and it will stay this way forever until I press a button. I have to press the HOME button to get the lock screen pulled up. =/. Other than that, 2.2 works like a dream. lol

Camera got buggy and had missing pixels. Phone would freeze when opening camcorder, and would say "ooos, could not launch camera at this time" when opening camera (more than half the time). Got a new DX today. So far so good, except my purchased and non purchased apps won't load. In the market, it doesn't show me as purchasing any apps!

Jus got my Droid X replacement yesterday. ALREADY having problems. There's this green spot that appears on every screen. UGHH! Did a factory data reset. Still there.

Hi Montuhotep,

That's actually a dead pixel, which is fairly common with LCD screens (my old Nintendo DS has one or two also), though not as much as it was several years back. It's still a bit of a bummer, though, when you expect the screen to be pristine. See this link:

Defective pixel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I don't know what Motorola's policy is on dead pixels, but I've found that many companies consider it normal and won't replace the device. It might still be worth looking into with Motorola, though.

Sometimes not all the time, instead of the default ringtone, the last call ringtone is played instead of the default ringtone!!!

Anyone else have experienced this?

Yes. Today. Droid 2. Android 2.2.
Mom called. She's the only one with a certain ring tone, then another contact called 2+ hours later with Mom's ring tone. Same contact called back 4 minutes later with the default ringtone, as it should have been.
Can cause great confusion answering the phone thinking it's someone it's not.
