That has nothing to do with 2.1. They have NEVER sent any update to any smart phone with *228 so this is not that. I personally I think it has to do with them rolling out skype mobile tomorrow at CTIA

The rumors were that the people in charge of distribution were at fault for the thursday release failure right? And they said that some phones had received it as planned, well my theory for how this *228 update plays into it is that the network is to blame. But not in a major way, the documentation said that you would not receive it if you were roaming, well seeing as a lot of people piggyback off of other networks and not true VZW towers(at least in my area) sometimes the data gets weird when it shouldn't and all. So what if the issue is that these phones won't update because of a PRL issue and the network doesn't see them fit to push the update to? If they make all the people in other areas(of course not all at once) update their PRL's to work with the other towers, the OTA update could then be pushed to their phones.

Just my idea from reading it, please criticize at will.

Zach

That actually sounds very plausible. I am also in a half true verizon and half alltel area and the only part that is alltel is the data lol so I always wonder about that since I never got 2.0.1 and just waited like 5 days and had it so I manually did it so I hope it works this time lol.

Milestone's were due for the update seperate from the Droid. My guess is Verizon tried and failed to match the Milestone update.
