No disrespect but you yourself have many threads started asking for help. Especially in the early days of this forum. And Noone told you to use search box. People come here for help. So let's either help or ignore the question if it bothers you that much. We were all n00bies at one time.

Pg was never a noob, :P, Hes god...

And its been more lately, only with the esteem, people asking questions that have been asked 3 threads before. and the fact when you post a link to where they need to go, they cant fallow directions.

I feel if you cant fallow directions dont mod your phone " we " do not own your phone "we" have the same phone and if we can do it with the same instructions you should be able too as well my friends 11 year old son can load themes, root, tether, change out APKs, so ... Learn to read and if someone tries to help, dont keep pestering them for them to hold your hand. and when "you" brick, soft brick your phone, dont blame "us" for the problem cause you couldnt fallow step by step plans for everything....

the funniest part is that when you start a thread, suggestions pop up to threads started releated to your title lol so if people would stop trying to make there thread title sound funny and actually keep it on subject, they will find the already asked and most likely answered question has been posted already, FOR THE SAME DEVICE!!!!! lol

the second thing is.. even though we do have a lot of repeated threads.. the esteem root section only has about 3-4 pages of threads... not that hard to skim through it quickly before you dickishly post a silly question, my PERSONAL opinion is most of the newly started threads aren't even related the esteem/root issues anymore...

no offense but who fudgin caes about the lg connect... its not the esteem so no need for posting... and tmobile ANYTHING does not belong here due to this device being metro ONLY lol but hey im just adding my 2 cents.. i gave up on trying to help organize this place a while ago because even though the phone may be discontinued, it will still be passed around and new/old questions will alwayyyys be asked lol so it a never ending pay-less job.. all i know is i need to update my sh*t hahaha

Yea I've tried but my baby needs most of my attention so its hard to put some time in and to the other guy yes you are right but it was question about stuff that was never done or asking if it could be done so theres a difference so before you try to correct someone how about you do a little studying about what I was asking and thank you for your time

We see this frustration about using search come up here fairly often. What's interesting is that we see that frustration from both sides:

- "Use the search feature here before starting a new thread!"

- "Stop reviving old threads with questions about the same issue!"

;)

In other words, once a new member comes into the forums, joins and uses the search, she or he will often land in a thread wherein the issue has the keywords of his or her search. The member will then post for clarification, or sometimes just a word or two of appreciation. Then a senior member will often chime in with something such as, "Why dredge up a dead thread? This thread ended two years ago," etc.

The main thing is this: Android Forums is about community, the Android community. :) This community invites posts and new threads, it also invites use of the search feature: both are good. :)

If you feel badly when you see one or the other, please just think about welcoming the member and helping with the device issue, not with anything at all to do with how you feel about age of the thread or whether the search was used or not.

It's all good.

Threads about non esteem phones should be deleted and that person warned. Helpful posts should be stickied, more so than they are.

And people who ROM and kernel zvd with the wrong software should be left to fend for themselves. :D

nahh reviving old threads is a good thing!!! thats what is supposed to be done!!! not starting a new one of the same issue lol when you see an old thread pop up again that is good, because it means that person actually gave the effort to search

on the other hand sometimes you dont find the answers your looking for if you dont use the correct 'key words' while searching.. happens to all of us lol but thats where google comes in :D odds are it'll lead you to a thread posted on here or xda lol so answers are out there!!! jus depends on how hungry/lazy you are towards getting those answers...

we ALL have our lazy moments and ask a dum/quick question lol but i always try to ask on a already posted thread so i dont waste space for 1 silly question :D

imo The only dumb question is the question that never gets asked. :)

My only complaint is the lack of descriptive topic titles on a lot of these help topics people post. Titles like "help me!" or "i broke my phone help plzzz" or any combination thereof make it impossible to know or at least get a general idea about what the person needs help with without reading the topic. On the other hand it also makes it impossible for someone else that may be having the same problem as that person to use the search function or Google to find that information since a main factor in the search results are the topic titles.
