Polaris office 5

Anybody notice that the m8 comes with Polaris office 5 but you can only find and launch it through Google now? Extremely annoying

Sprint also has it in the apps list. Weird to see such differences in different carrier versions.

I tried searching for it in file manager to see if I could install the apk but no go. Just weird you can only find it through Google now

I'm not an M8 owner but I switched to Kingsoft Office recently and find it to be more user friendly.

It's already installed.

Estrongs File Explorer (aka ES File Explorer), /system/app, check it, more, add to desktop. You may have to set ES preferences for root exploring, I don't remember.

Old trick from when Sprint hid it on previous models.

I like Office Suite Pro better, but for free, Polaris is alright.

Using ES File Manager go to device\system\priv-app

Scroll down until you find PolarisOffice.apk and click on it and install it. Make sure you can install third party apps in settings\security and check "Unknown Sources".

Then the Polaris app will show up in your application manger!
