Now hold on there. Whilst I disagree with many things the Pope and Vatican preach, you are taking what he said out of context.

He is talking about extremism which as we all know extremism from any front be it Christian, Muslim or Atheist is not a good thing. Many Atheists go about their daily lives without attempting to strip the faith from those who believe and even care for those who do believe. But there has been a rise in Atheist extremism where people attempt to rid the world of religion and this is the link to the Nazis I believe he was making.

Familyguy1 noted the Hitler was a Christian, whilst it is true that he was brought up and confirmed a Christian his messages were very conflicting and often spoke of a need to destroy organised religion.

And I'm called this by a man who heads an organisation that will still not fess up to how many kiddie fiddlers and peados they helped escape justice.

Remember not all Muslims are terrorists? Not all Catholic priests say "ah, men" instead of "amen." Not all religious folks are intolerant and extremist. Until atheist extremists realize they're just as bad as religious extremists with their comments and attitude, you all sound like a bunch of whiny, hypocritical ****s. And not one person with different views takes you seriously.

I definitely agree that any extremist is deserving of eradication. I guess that makes me an anti-extremist extremist?

Hate of any kind sickens me TBH. Pathological hate that will inspire people to commit extreme acts of brutality and violence, especially targeting innocents, is right up there with Stalin's purges, and the Holocaust IMNSHO(in my not so humble opinion).

I do think those individuals and groups should get treated with the same gloves they would treat those that dont feel the same way they do.

In this case, I would have to question the popes wording. I think the message he intended to get across may have been, if not mis-stated, worded poorly. While no religion is without its extremes and certainly not without its bloodied past(save maybe the tibetans, who i cant recall them being aggressors at any point), I dont think a religious icon like the pope should be singling out any group, athiests, jews, bhuddists, or anyone else.
 
Atheism is just another religion...one where you cater to your self instead of letting some old books tell you what you should do. It's actually a great religion as you can create and change your morals and in the end you don't have to be accountable for your actions.

Sounds like politicians eh?

An atheist has to define his or her own morals without reference to an imaginary friend, or to a book written about someone else's imaginary friend.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" is actually quite a good place to start. :rolleyes:
