Root (Port) Behold 2 1.6 ( No Twiz w/ Busybox & Rooted Kernel )

One problem I've noticed with WarHeads is that it doesn't seem to be sleeping properly. The buttons do what they're supposed to when the screen is off, so it appears to be sleeping, but the battery is draining much faster than it should, and when I check the battery usage is almost 100% Android System. No amount of reboots seems to be fixing this. Anyone else having this problem?

as of right now, i have not had this problem occur. then again, i am still running off the first full charge after killing the battery last night after flashing the ROM. will keep you updated. :D

EDIT: just to let you know, my battery is at 80% with being on for about 5 hours. usage is Android System 93%, Cell Standby 4%, and Phone Idle 3%.

Ok guys sorry but I've read all the threads and I'm seeing contradicting instructions. My understanding is to flash (Boot+phone) then PDA alone. I've seen no mention of the OPS though. I'm not sure how to clear that our so do I have it in there for flashing both (boot+phone) and then PDA?

okay if you cannot flash using all three at once, then you do 2 seperate flashes. BOOT + PDA and then PHONE + PDA. you always include the OPS in every flash. if you do not include the PDA in both of those flashes, then you in essence "do not have an OS" and your phone will just stay on the android screen.

Yeah I just flashed it without the PDA and it stuck on the behold status bar it starts with. I pulled the battery reset odin files and added the PDA in without phone or boot and it flashed fine. It's still on the android screen so hopefully all will be well.

Edit: Up and running so I think all is well. Will let everyone know soon.

I flashed with all files loaded into odin and didn't have problems loading the ROM onto the phone.

Had a bunch of force closes on phone/dialer/vendor/etc., but did a factory reset.

I've had one force close since: com.android.phone

Will check back with battery info/errors/awesomeness tomorrow.

Just a little tip...
First off look in the market and download Home++ so you can receive updates for the home in WarHeads, and second if you take an app out of the app drawer an place it directly back to the delete bin and hold it there, it will uninstall the app just like advance launcher did!

or you can drag and drop from your home screen to uninstall the app too!
@BH_MAN, if you do plan on making another 1.6 no TWz rom then I have the perfect name for it lol....
Take5, since it would be the 5th 1.6 no TWz rom lol....get it hahahaha

Has anyone figured out which App is required for the "Favorite Contacts" shortcut on the Home++ Power Strip? It says that the application isn't installed on my phone.

I don't understand why Contacts wouldn't be an option for a shortcut on a home replacement designed for convenience and simplicity.

I didn't see anyone else say this, but downloading Home++ from the market stopped the app list from refreshing every time you open it :)

It didn't for me, I have to end the task for home++ right after a reboot, and then it will work right! But there stilll is a few other bugs in this Home app, but like the app says on the market, its in Beta stages right now!

I'm pretty sure it will never leave beta. It's been in Beta since I got my phone, because I downloaded it the day after I got this phone.

Ok guys for people having the problem of drawer constantly refreshing even after following BH_MAN's instrutions I think I figured out the fix. I noticed after following BH_MAN's insturctions when I would reboot my phone nothing seemed to fix the issue. So I installed the Home++ from the market and what do you know it's fixed that is until I rebooted again then I had the same problem. That got me thinking about what happend when I installed from the market and other home replacement app (open home) and I realized well for it to install it has to close the app. So I opend task killer and force closed Home++ when I pressed the home button and opened the app drawer no more refresh. Kind of like when you would change certain setting in open home it would as you to "quit now" or "close now" something like that. Since this is a beta program it looks like we'll have to do this everytime we reboot.

BH_MAN,

So far really like the rom. Now that everything is installed, set up, and settled down I'm having no FC's. No sleep bug as far as I can tell doing the "button test". Dialer app can be sluggish at times, but it seems like after a reboot and the first call is made it works fine. Proximity sensor works off and on. One call it will work then it won't. Occasionally things seem to get sluggish and a little buggy, but every rom I try has things like that happend until a few days pass then it's all good. Plus Home++ is a beta too so I'm sure it has it's own inherent issues. I'll stick with warheads untill the weekend at least then I may swith back to dots. Time will tell.

Since there are no pics yet...

Behold (2).... WarHeads :)

Hey would anyone that has done the adb pull on the handcent app be kind enough to upload the .apk? I'm considering switching to using that as my only messaging app.

weird, the drawer refreshing problem did not hit me after a 'reboot after install from market'. will continue to observe.

Well, I hope the battery life improves. I flashed it with a full battery yesterday morning at 6am. Set everything to drain the battery quickly. It shut down on it's own by 12pm. Charged for 4 hours and turned it on. Left the GPS, Location Services, WiFi, Bluetooth turned off and reduced the brightness to 75%, and timeout of 1 minute. Phone was dead again by 11pm, Charged it overnight, turned it on at 5:30am this morning and it is now 7:30am and it is at 69% charge. Am I missing something?

Edit: It is 7:44am and it is now at 65%.

i asked BHMAN about doing this, and he says the handcent isnt designed as a standalone app (it needs/uses the default TwMms to work). i had tried to pull, rename, and push before and i couldnt send/receive pic messages. but if anyone figures this out, PLEASE POST
