Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

I am running a stock phone with just the update. I have been doing a lot of reading on this. Now all you guys have pushed me over the edge to want to give it a try lol

I'm with you, no update for me yet though. I want to give it a try as well. Not sure where to start. I've read most of the threads but as this is my first Android phone and I've only had it a couple weeks. I feel like I'm missing the first steps, before the Rooting and ROM steps outlined in these thread. Is there something I could read that starts a noob like me a few steps back? What I need to download from android.com for example. A primmer of sorts.

Thanks

@PAUL89 - DO NOT ODIN YOU WILL LOSE THE UPDATE. I made that mistake last week, and after a 4-5 calls to TMO they are sending a replacement phone since no-one there can seem to re-send the update to me. Frickin ridiculous - Cost to RMA and refurb a phone $200 minimum (industry stat including all phone types), cost for an agent to Push an Update $.02, knowing how to Push the Update "Priceless".

The Soapbox is now free...

Well that sucks to be the lab rat!!!
Did you try doing the "how to force update" from that thread

Okay Guy's... Pushing over the system.img from the sdcard right now to check everything out... If all is Good, I will start the Upload in say? 10 minutes at the most :)

P.S.
I love my Status, lol What's root?

lmao ya mine did say that, now it says, "I like this place!"
Im confused I thought you were already uploading it? Did you stop it and make changes?

No I never Uploaded it, I was testing things, then I had to leave & go to my Mother's to help her & my Dad Move there stuff around in the House & also Take them the Picture's of there Un-born Grandson..

I hung around & had a Few beer's with my Dad after we was Done..
Just now Finally got around to Finishing things up on it :)

I know, I'm dragging my Feet lol :)

Well, I'm thinking of just calling it Done for the Night.. Long day & I have a slow Upload at that... 50k/b max so it's going to take 30 to 40 minutes to upload..

In doing so I can listen to everyone's Feedback, and make changes from there if needed. :)

So, I'll leave the search keymap for now & wait to hear the Results / Problems if any.

oh i missed understood you here, i thought you were doing it already! My bad, no no, your doing a great job! Keep up the good work:D

not trying to be an ass but all those things can be "slapped" on the home screen as well.:)

I only suggested the rock on player because it matched the whole cube thing, but anything other than the samsung cube is a great move.

You guys are thinking too small. I would like (I know it will never get done) the sides of the cube user customizable. I probably still wouldn't use it, maybe only to show off to friends with iphones and droids.

Yeah my Droid friend makes fun of my cube. :(

But what my friend doesn't have is BH_MAN!:D

I worked on the Droid before I had mine stolen... :(

Anyways.. I uploaded the Wrong System File.. Re-uploading it again Now.
Sorry about that :(

Okay Guys :)
New Rom Posted & Please Read The Change Log & the New Install!
Remember, If I didn't Post it in the Change Log I don't want to Hear about it :) * ,*

Please Enjoy :)

Yes Re-Installing is Fine :)

I have the Same plan myself, but I update them using the login via t-mobile web page and not the Phone.

Just FYI, not sure if you know this, But the app isn't needed to keep the free calling to MyFave's, only the Number's need to be in your account on TMO :)

Awesome thanks man!

Quicky question about this:

- rm /data/system/batterystats.bin After You have did a Factory Restore!

So you're saying that once I'm done doing the entire process and doing the factory restore at the end, I should go back into cmd prompt and type that in?

Would it look like:

adb shell
cat /sdcard/try3 > /data/local/try3
chmod 777 /data/local/try3
/data/local/try3 /system/bin/sh
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin

?

I guess I'm just confused with this one step as I've never done anything outside of your original instructions when doing this before. Thanks!

No, all You have to do is this & Your Finished.. Mainly for those that have the battery issue. I am luck & never had a Problem with it.

I added it into the Script, but it's not removing it. So for now this has to be done once.

adb shell
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
reboot
Awesome thanks man!

If you Follow the Direction in the First Post & Have ADB working.. You should be Good to go :)

BH_MAN : Just to clarify, even if you haven't received the update, and you install this updated ROM, you will have the update (minus the new apps)?
