Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

Batterystats.bin gives the system the hi n low points of the battery. I believe it tells the phone ( or plays a big part in telling when to stop charging the battery or when its to low to continue working , where it then shuts down .. I think we would be better off with a script the deletes it on shut down ,so its forced to refresh it self on the next run .. Remember clearing the batterystats.bin is just the same as conditioning the battery , which is just refreshing the full and empty points....

Can't wait for the new version of your rom. Any time frame on when you'll post it. Sorry messing with my phones and their roms have become and addiction. I'm sure some other people know where I'm coming from.

Edit: Does the "P.S. Thanks for the Dump of the update" bit mean the new files will include the update because I sure haven't gotten it and don't think I will either.

For messaging vibration don't press the menu button on the home screen and to go to settings. Open the app drawer and scroll down to the setting that has an icon with a couple of sprockets. It's the touchwiz version of the settings. Select soung profiles --> normal --> edit --> message (from drop down menu) --> vibration & melody (under message alert type. To get a phone call to vibrate you can use either setting menu. I use the default androind menu because for whatever reason after you swith you phone to vibrate profile then back to normal you have to go into the setting menu and turn on vibration with melody back on. Don't really know why or how to fix this tired everything I could think of as far as different combinations between the different settings menu. Would welcome any ideas to fix this.

I'm having a problem deleting the batterystats.bin file. I'm on BH_MAN's rom. I can get into the phone via adb and adb shell works. However when i try to enter "mount -a" it says "unknown option-- amount: invalid option -a".

When I type "mount - a" it gives me "usage: mount [-r] [-w] [-o options] [-t type] device directory"

I don't know why it's not working...any thoughts? Help!

hey BH_MAN i still have myfavs. will it still work with your update if i just reinstall the apk?

also i prefer the twmms.apk so it gets my vote.

Glad to help. It wasn't all my doing. I read someone elses post and simply explained it in more detail so there wasn't any confusion on which settings menu to use.

Sounds like another amazing rom cooking you are doing there. I feel the Galaxy MMS is better... but either way it is easy for uninstall/install one or the other.

As long as I can use a different notification sound from the general one that you select in the touchwiz setting under sound profiles I would vote for touchwiz mms. If I can't android mms. Hope that makes sense.
 
Does everyone know that there are 2 excellent SMS apps available for free (Handcent & Chomp)?

IMO much better than stock.

i have a suggestion for remapping the cube button. there is a great music player out that actually gets the cube feature right! it's called 3 (not the number but the cubed sign) and can be found by searching for rock on. it would be great if you replaced samsungs player with it and remap the cube button to launch it. just a thought. thanx for your hard work!

Where are the files? Are they in the original post? And is this using the update?

Oh ok gotcha. I actually loved your idea of using the Cube button as a search button. I always thought Samsung should have made it a search button to begin with, much like most Android phones. Is there a way I can get those files before you change it to a music player or are you going to post multiple versions?

Well, I'm thinking of just calling it Done for the Night.. Long day & I have a slow Upload at that... 50k/b max so it's going to take 30 to 40 minutes to upload..

In doing so I can listen to everyone's Feedback, and make changes from there if needed. :)

So, I'll leave the search keymap for now & wait to hear the Results / Problems if any.
 
dont map it to something that can be easily slapped on to the homescreen. That would be pointless! Mapping it to search is good, maybe settings, or something that isn't easily accessible!

What if you could have it control screen brightness?

not trying to be an ass but all those things can be "slapped" on the home screen as well.:)

I only suggested the rock on player because it matched the whole cube thing, but anything other than the samsung cube is a great move.

Hey BH_MAN since we have the update in our 100% stock TouchWiz rom, would we lose the update if we were to ODIN back with the files that are out there now for OIDN,?

I am running a stock phone with just the update. I have been doing a lot of reading on this. Now all you guys have pushed me over the edge to want to give it a try lol

yeah i'm thinking trash the samsung player all together, install rock on/"3" and map the cube button to launch that player.

no matter what i know one thing...BH_MAN has saved the Behold 2!!!!!!!
