Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

Before I get the latest BH_MAn rom has anyone done an update to the ODIN files so we don't have to go back to the T939UVIJ6 firmware.

I assume the files can be generated from the new system dump?

Not yet, as of now... But, Nu11u5 is currently working on Producing them.

Awe nothing :) If this is your first android, then you missed the day's of the G1 :)

lol....did I miss a lot?? was using P1i for a while before I switched to BB lol...

ok so now I'm confused....how come the contacts show up on yours and not mine.... I already did a master reset. Do I need to odin back to factory first before running the new rom? coz I just uploaded the new one and overwrote your previous rom :)

If I press the TO textbox, the only option that shows is the text input, no option for contacts

also, how can we keep our settings everytime we update? Or do we really need to master reset everytime? :)

oh thanks again man. and congrats on baby. mine just turned one last saturday

Nope, all I did was Install Autokiller from the Market & Taskiller to see the result's of the Memory usage of the new Rom.

I did my reset using the Direction on the First Post though, I didn't use the Master reset..

Menu > setting > SD card & Phone Storage > Factory Data Reset > Reset Phone.

This is the only thing I did Different.:confused::rolleyes:

then you Missed the Direction's on the First Post.. If you still have the Twiz setting's when hitting menu, then you missed a Step.

cd /system
rm -R app
before applying the Patched system

Just open Adb shell, and re-follow the Direction's on the First Post. :)

i followed the one with the blue asterisk, or should have i followed the red? i wasn't really sure what you meant on your pst with new and old update.

The * is for the Latest Update = New :)

I would just repeat the Direction's again, as something clearly didn't get copied over.

Remember to wait for the # After each command & do a Factory Reset :)

@BH_MAN - I have been trying to use autokiller, however I have seen two issues. First persistant root doesn't seem to be in place after loading the ROM - when I launch SU I get a blank screen. If I follow the directions in the persistant root thread the interface comes up (always allow, allow, always deny, deny), but then my phone runs with significant lag. Am I missing somthing. I have installed the ROM, Completed A Factory Reset, installed the WiFi fix, then load my apps.

Might be a Problem in the Superuser.apk.
I've heard other Mention problems with it, regarding the same issue you are having. I can Upload another Superuser.apk if you want to try that one?

Oh crap. I was so excited to learn everything last night and forgot to enter the following command:

rm -R framework *
rm -R lib *

Do I have to restart all over or can i go into ADB and enter those in? Also is it normal for the Tmobile logo at the start of the booting process to lag? Feels slower (as in the whole tmobile images come together pretty slow)

Other than that thanks every1 especially BH_MAN for the update! :D

I wouldn't worry about it to much, I just removed Lib's not needed with the Changes I made.

If you decide to Run those command, you Must Repeat the process. Not doing so, you will be left with a None booting phone and will need to restore w/ ODIN.

Just Repeat everything on Post one & you should be fine :)
The lag might be from it Running the Script at boot up..???

@bangsters: i have same problem with the message like you ^^ But its not big problem, maybe i find new message app from market.

thanks for letting me know that i'm not alone with this issue lol....about to pull my hair...

I just odined back to factory settings, then redid the install process once again... still the same issue with messaging app (my messaging app has blue icon).

And the main wallpaper that loads up is the picture with blue water splashed in the shape of a "C". just making sure mine is the same as everyone else.

the settings menu in the apps is still touchwiz...but if I click menu button and select the settings there it is the new one.

the messaging thing is puzzling me really lol....why just me and another guy and everyone else works fine lol... i hate to install another messaging app just as a workaround when it should be working just like yours and the others :(

Give me a Minute. Lost the File so I'm deodex'n it again. But, I'm doing the Full Dump this time around. :)

If anyone can help me with this issue I will be extremely grateful.
I tried using the instructions so that I can use the hybrid galaxy on my behold 2. While attempting to unzip the file I encountered a problem. When I tried to unzip the file directly onto my sd card, It was stating that I need to insert a disc into the removable drive F:. I installed adb and the drivers successfully and when i went to manage on my computer it showed that they were installed and everything so I was a little confused as to why it couldnt recognize my phone being connected. I thought that this was just a small glitch or something because my computer recognized the device when i did adb shell in cmd. So since i was unable to unzip the files on the behold directly, i decided to remove the sd card and unzip the folder to the sd card through an adapter instead. Then i put the sd card into the behold and then proceeded to enter the code in the command prompt.
I entered the first ones (step 1) and got the message that the shell was a success. so I proceeded to enter step 2. I never got any other messages after that. At step 3 I never got a pause so I just continued to step 4 then I tried to reboot. I got a lot of force closes and then I turned the phone off. When I turned it back on, i got the samsung behold II screen then the little animation before getting to the screen that says stick together. The phone stops at that screen.
I am afraid that I might've done something wrong because its been hours and its still on that screen. I ask that you please help me find a solution to this problem. I really hope that my phone isnt bricked.

Here Is the Factory TwMms.apk File for the Behold 2.
I've deodex it for everyone to make installing it easier.

Original TwMms TwMms.apk
Place onto your sdcard ( Un-mount )
then do the Following
adb shell
cat /sdcard/TwMms.apk > /system/app/TwMms.apk

Um? I would ODIN back to Stock and try Fresh... Never Proceed to the Next step with out see the #... Sound's Like you did it just Fine, but jumped the gun on waiting for the #

This was my problem the very first time I started dabbling with the rooting process. I got so antsy that I would just enter command after command.

Some commands might take a while but you have to wait for the # sign to reappear before you proceed to the next command line.

Also it probably didn't recognize the removable drive because you had your phone on debug mode. You have to turn debug off for mass storage to show up.
