Root ( Port ) Galaxy 1.6 on the Behold 2 Final

Neither... I was Focusing on getting ADB working on Recovery & the Kernel.... Starting on Hero tonight.... Once I get that Running I'll start working on 2.1

Hope Everyone enjoys the ADB at boot-up... For those that's still running 1.5, I'll get 1.5 adb enabled at boot as well.. But, this will be a few day's before I get that done....

R8 is posted pone for right now... I want to get a Little more variety out for the BH2 & let people go from there.

I know I asked you before about hero's firmware, but you didn't tell me which one it was. (1.5, 1.6, 2.0,...) If it is atleast 1.6 then I think it would be safe to say that we can ditch the galaxy roms! LOL!

Are these R# release candidates/betas, or are you just putting them out as you update them with no penultimate/final release planned? I've been holding off on jumping from your 1.5 to 1.6 as issues have been worked out, but I'm wondering if I should just take the plunge. :)

If you're aware of the current issues (vibrate, voice etc...) and they're not show stoppers for you, take the plunge. 1.6 is so much nicer than 1.5 it's almost a no-brainer. If you're waiting for perfection, you're going to have a long wait. I've yet to use a version of Android that was 100% bug free. That includes every variation of stock ROM's, cyanogen... it doesn't matter.

Every release will fix something and introduce some other issue. You're either the type that likes to keep up and try the latest build or the kind of person that wants something that works for your needs and stick with it.

I did a fresh install of the R7 ROM and I am still having issues with the WiFi not reconnecting when coming out of sleep mode. Anyone else still experiencing this? I am having the issue with multiple access points so I am pretty sure it is the phone and not anyone network.

i've noticed that if you turn wifi off after coming out of sleep and turning it back on it works... done it for me for the last day perfectly fine. hope that helps anyone with the whole wifi after sleep problem...

or you can disable the slepping policy by going into wifi settings and then press the menu button then click advanced, and then choose never!

I have also noticed that the north south axis on my accelerometer is inverted. It shows north when I am facing south and so on. I have tried calibrating to no avail. It is really strange, i have never seen that before. Anyone else experiencing that?

I just noticed that over the weekend after downloading sky map, and google goggles.

That same question is asked about 3 times in this thread alone. If I wasn't at work, I'd browse and find the link for you. You can find it.

Note to everyone: Chances are good that multiple people have the same questions as you regarding this rom. Please take the time to skim/read and if your question isn't answered, then ask. This is just out of respect for those who take the time to help!

Does anyone have the bug where market and such won't load? Like you lost your 3g connection? Maybe it's because I'm inside? :-\ But it's intermittent

#1 turn debug on
#2 open better terminal
#3 type SU
#4 a screen will pop up asking to allow root...hit always allow
#5 reap the benefits of root :)

This Problem is Solved by using the Revision 2 kernel I made.... ADB Debugging is Turned on by Default & has ADB enabled at boot up for those that use ddms or Logcat at boot-up, and has permission for root at every boot regarding SH & SU.

Flash with odin, Revision Kernel 2 here > http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-behold-2/59362-rooted-1-6-kernel-behold-2-a.html

Please Note: You will need the .ops, as I didn't include this... But, everyone should have this already.

Not sure if its a bug or not but my phone randomly reboots by itself. Not using it, laying dormant, and then reboots. Happens 2x already.

for the r7....im just curious about this

- New A2SD Script > http://androidforums.com/479255-post1.html
- Must Wipe /system/sd/app-private first due to Permission Before Flashing
- Firstboot.sh support added via /system/bin ( Attached Below So you can Run your Own Commands )
- The Firstboot.sh Is already installed in R7, but goes into /system/bin & I attached the File for those knowing how to use Commands... Once command is Ran, the Script is Deleted... It's a Run-once .sh

now is this all automated with odin? or do i need to do this after flashing with odin?

I had this same problem this morning for the first time. Not sure what caused it.

I also had an issue last night where the phone acted like it was going to speaker as soon as I made a call or answered a call but then I couldn't hear the other person unless I actually switched it to speaker manually.

A reboot fixed it, but it was weird.

I'm using 1.5 and super happy with it, especially since I was using default rom.
But I hear so many good things about 1.6 and thinking about trying R7. I wonder if it's a final version, it seems like there are still things that are not working correctly. Would it be better for me to wait or just try this now?

It is a constant work in progress, each revision corrects some issues and adds some more functionality. If you can live without vibrate I say go for it. I have been using it and it is pretty stable. The pluses way out number the minuses at this point for me. You can always go back if you hate it!
