Root Porting Iphone OS to Android.

Well I got to thinking since people managed to port Android to the Iphone why couldnt we do vice versa? Is it because the Iphone OS is not open source?? The main reason I REALLY want to do this is for the awesome games. An emulator perhaps would be great

The iPhone OS is not open source, never will be either. I own an iPod touch 2G, I personally like Android better.

Plus, other than the nerd factor, why would you want to? Just for games??? Buy a DS or something lol!

I see your problem. When I bought my Ally I really wanted to return it and get an iphone... cuase of the games. Trident convinced me to not lol but anyway I noticed the andrfoid market is growing really fast...and android as an os is FAR superior to ios.

That's just my opinion... don't sue me apple.

Well I know that You cant get an open source from them but they do have their "Jail Break" System which is pretty much our rooting. So why cant we get a "Jail Break" version?

Having a system running with root access is not the same (or in any way related...) to having the source code (porting is changing and adding source code and rebuilding for a new platform).

Well that makes sense.

I really wouldnt want I phone os anyway. I just think it would be cool to have the ability. I wonder how that works when the I phone uses Android?
Do they have the ability to go to the Market and Download apps or do they have some app hack thing. Maybe they have to push all their apps Manually?

Just seems like that would be a problem. Maybe I am just an over thinker about things that really dont make any difference to me in my life. LOL

I dunno im just saying.

If they went through the trouble to hack the whole OS together, I'm sure they went to the trouble to hack the Market to work properly (similar to Archos's tablets getting Market hacked onto them).

lol i did not really want the os for game i just want to know how the OS runs sooo smooth like on the ipod touch its able to run very high qaulity apps/games and still runs very smooth.
