Positive talk only :)

Put the boys through a tough afternoon. Day 2 went great! Can't wait for tomorrow morning :)

Kids worked hard both sessions today. My linemen were getting after it!!

On Monday morning when my wife left for work I kissed her and she smiled and said "I'll see you in November babe" lol
Their is a hint of truth to it.

I could never do this without her love and support. I know that every Friday night I'll look up in the stands and she will be their. Smiling and cheering her heart out for our boys.
I'm a lucky man.
Day 3 is in the books! Day 5 we can start hitting! This community loves high school football so we are having one session Thursday morning and session 2 starts at 11pm and runs til 1am. Their will be 3,000 people who come out just to see the pads popping at midnight!
Grind to shine!

Kids are getting the hang of the offense pretty quickly.
We got speed for days. Still gotta find a solid left guard but we have time to find the right kid.

This afternoon is our last 2 a day. Next week I gotta run fast tight practices so we can get the offense and defense fully installed.
Some folks think it's easy to teach a blitz heaven 4-3 defense, I'm hear to tell you it takes a lot of work.......
Had over 3 thousand people show up to Midnight Madness last night just to watch the first full contact practice!
Grind to shine!

Tomorrow we start installing our blitz package into the defense.
First scrimmage is Tuesday morning. The kids will be excited to hit someone else besides each other lol [emoji16]

Just a couple pics my wife took of midnight madness. That was around 10pm. By midnight we had 3 thousand people show up!
You got to grind together to shine together

Football was always a little hard for me to relate to, at 5'11" 130 Lbs. in high school.

Mom saw early on I was never likely to be a "team player" anyway, and steered me toward competitive swimming and cross country running in grade school.

That was a few years ago, now; But I still remember the many two workout days; Pool early AM, weight room PM............And mostly how good it feels to OWN your competition. How good it feels to run up alongside "Mr. second place ribbon", turn your head to make eye contact one last time, and then crush their spirit under your heel, as you light the afterburners, with the finish line off in the distance. Sometimes even taking a few deliberately sloppy strides on the equestrian trails, kicking up that extra summer dust..... Just to make the point, really break 'em!

Grind 'em up, boys!

P.S. My arena also had the distinct advantage of surrounding me with a lot of girls in Spandex....Win/win!:)

We have one more scrimmage left. The kids are looking great. Gotta tweak a few things but all their hard work is showing!
Grind to shine!

3 more days......talk about nerves lol
The kids have worked so hard, just hope we can do our job as coaches and put them in a position to win :)

Hi MLSS; This is gonna' sound negative, but bear with me, it isn't meant that way, and I hope to swing it positive by the end.;)

Tongue firmly in cheek........
All yer' hard work, all that training......who cares? It don't mean nothing (Kidding);)
All across the state, there's dozens of guys like you, with the same dream.......Dozens of groups of kids, all working as hard as yours!

And that's the beauty of it.

They'll stand on the other side of the line of scrimmage....... and try to do to your kids, exactly what you hope to do to them.
And without them, you got no one to play against, no measure of how sweet sport, competition, and victory can be.

But not everyone can be champions....in fact only one team can be. You take some losses with the wins; Some seasons, maybe even more of the former.

I got no reason to believe your kids won't dominate, nor any reason to believe you aren't already teaching them all of the important lessons. (Heck, I don't know most of them myself.) But it's always worth remembering; Just getting off the bench and onto the field is the important part; Win or lose, you have achieved; And when vanquished, your opponents are to be respected for their achievements........Cuz' they somehow managed to beat some young men that were (damn near) the best.:)

I get really bummed out by Olympic coverage that mocks (for instance) Luxembourg, because they went home without a single medal. BS!........They fielded a team of athletes who qualified for the damn Olympics, and showed up!
Win or lose......... well done boys!

Too many great, inspirational sports quotes on luck to pick just one; But at the end of the day, you make your own luck through hard work!

Good Luck!

WOW! We won 27-7!
What a game. We played a very sloppy first quarter but the kids settled down. We owned the line of scrimmage and ran at will tonight.
Gotta clean up our pass coverage this week.
I'm on cloud nine!!!

Getting ready for our final walk through before tomorrow's game. I've watched as much film as I could and hopefully came up with a good game plan.
Made some adjustments on both sides of the ball this week so I'm hoping we put our boys in a position to win. We face off against a small school state powerhouse this week and a win will garner some serious playoff points. Lose, and it's gut check time.
This is our final Saturday game for the season. I'll be glad to get back to playing on Friday nights again!
Grind to shine

Took one on the chin tonight. Just shot ourselves in the foot over and over again.
42-21
Time to fix the mistakes and move on to next week.

It's Gameday! Been a good week of practice. I have a couple kids out with injuries but we put together a good game plan and spent this week working on tackling.
We have a tall task in front of us but I believe my men can get it done!
Grind to shine!
