Positive talk only :)

The state wrestling meet starts today in Ohio! Our school has 2 kids going this year.
We sent 11 kids to districts but could only get 2 to Columbus for the big dance. The good news about that is all the kids who went to districts are coming back next year, both the kids who are going to state will be back next year as well!

I'm confident we will bring home one state champion this year and I am hoping both young men can do it!

Best of luck MLSS. State championships are earned so wishing luck is a stupid thing to say. I hope your young men do well. My local high had two champs this year. My son was a many time national champ but fell short of a state championship... taking second twice. It's quite an achievement to be a champ!

To drum up interest we as a coaching staff decided to have a signing day event. Our school despite its great tradition averages about 40 kids some years 45 will come out to play.

I have what I call the 4 pillers
Discipline
Respect
Hard work
Dedication
Those are what we build our team from. I've preached these into all my kids weather it be youth football, Jr high or when I was a jv coach/Varsity assistant.
From the day I got hired I started getting texts from my boys telling me they were ready to put the 4 pillars into the program.
I knew this signing day would be good but not counting incoming freshman, we had 59 young men commit to be a Buckeye next year.
Monday we are doing a "signing day" event at the Jr high high for incoming freshman and we think we may end up with 20-25 freshman commits.

We are also doing voluntary classes once a week that cover aspects of our 4 pillars and have had 30-40 kids show up at each of the 1st 3 classes.

I've Instituted a weight room warrior award that is given out every Friday to the young man who shows the most commitment through a combination of how hard he works in the weight room and how helpful he is to others in the weight room as well.
I've got kids who just finished basketball and indoor track and kids who are playing baseball and running track so we can't expect full weight room participation til June.

I am super pumped at the level of commitment these young men are showing!
Nelsonville-York Buckeye Football is back and it's going to be better than ever!

That's all I got today lol

So for decades we have had Orange helmets. A few years ago we went to brown helmets.
School colors are Orange, white, and Brown.
I'm not changing the uniforms this year but I've contemplated going back to the Orange helmets.
What do you guys think?

Orange if the uniforms are going to be what's pictured above. That may be too much brown. :p
The boosters asked but I declined changing the uniforms this season.
I really like the brown pants and Brown Jerseys anyways lol
I am getting new white pa to for our road uniforms.

We had 40 young men and 9 young ladies show up tonight and it is going great!

I'm going with the Orange but don't make them too much like the Cleveland Browns........ I think their uniforms is what makes them suck :p
