Help Possible Brick? Help!

So I rooted my HTC Thunderbolt and everything went smooth. Got ROM Manager and downloaded the VirusROM Airborne RC1B1 because it looked freakin' slick. Followed the directions, installed it, now my phone will reboot into the splash screen for the ROM (the 'Get Infected') flying letters, but then freezes midway and I cannot do ANYTHING other than pop the battery, pop it back in, then reboot only to have it hang again. WHAT CAN I DO? God please don't tell me I bricked this damn thing with a ROM!

Ok, need some more information first. Did you install CWM before you flashed Virus? Did you do any wipes before installing, do you make a backup? If you made a backup, just restore that, do ALL the wipes and reflash Virus. Also, I would suggest not using ROM Manager. Boot directly to CWM and do things manually. ROM Manager causes too many little quirks, IMO

edit: CWM=ClockWork Mod Recovery

I did install CWM and flashed before Virus. I did the wipes, but I think that may be my problem. I think ROM Manager bugged and both didn't fully wipe AND my backup is corrupted because I can't load it. I can get into CWM Recovery, but honestly at this point I don't know what to do to get a working mod onto my phone. (In other words, I'm a '**** and don't know what choices to make to manually wipe my phone to reinstall Virus though I can mount my SD card now. Durrr.)

Ok, you're fine, definitely not bricked. D/L the current version of Virus on your PC. Boot to CWM (hold volume down and power) under mounts and storgae and select usb mount. Put the Virus zip on your SD card, go back to the main CWM menu>factory reset/wipe data>wipe cache partition>advanced>wipe dalvik cache. Go back to main menu Install zip from SD card>chose zip from SD find Virus and flash. Once you're up and running I suggest making a new backup ASAP as you currently don't have one

Just for future reference, bricked = your phone and a brick do the same thing. If a light/screen/sound comes on, your phone is not bricked.

I am not picking on you (there is a learning curve for the root world), but there are way too many people that should know that and do not, so I just thought I would throw it in there.

When you get a ROM, I prefer not to use ROM manager. One thing you should do is check the md5 checksum. It basically validates the file's integrity. Every dev I know of will freely give out an md5 for any zip they distribute. You can use various free programs/command line tools to check the md5, and that prevents any flashing of corrupt files.

Aside from that, it seems WormDoes above me has it covered. Follow his post and you should be good to go.
