Root Possible Brick!!!

Okay I tried launching a recovery mode. I did the instuctions found at this website: https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc_common/wiki/IHO-Recovery
I put IHO into my root folder. I skipped 2+3 because I though I could just launch recovery by turning it off. I turned off my phone and clicked the 3 buttons it told me too. (Home,Volume Down and Power). It turned on but all I get is black screen! Help me fix this! I need urgent help!

If you hadn't gotten the recovery installed you would be in the fastboot screen. The black screen would indicate the wrong recovery for your screen drivers. I don't see how you got the wrong recovery from there.
Read the fix for the black screen in recovery found here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-all-things-root/419080-truth-about-rom-manager.html
Make sure you put the BobZohme recovery on the root of the uSD card. Rename it to brecovery for ease of install and to differentiate it from the other recovery that you probably renamed recovery or vrecovery.
Next download the ROM of choice and Gapps if required (All Gingerbread ROM's require the Gapps, some ICS ROM's do as well)
ROM and Gapps need to stay zipped, while the flash_image and recovery need to be unzipped.

This should fix you right up. If you have any questions were here.
Note: Your thread will be moved to the All Things Root sub-forum. The Bobzohme recovery can be found here: http://androidforums.com/optimus-v-...l-things-root-guide-updated-06-14-2012-a.html

The iho recovery isn't compatible with the Hitachi (new) screens. That's why bobz is most used. I prefer cannibal recovery myself :)

Edit: If you press the camera button and nothing else when your booted to your black screened recovery it should reboot the phone
