Root Possible fix for CM7 & ICS Hardware Acceleration? ;D

RetroDelete

I came across this a while ago, and I was on a posting probation, so I couldn't post, but this could solve our Video Playback on CM7, and fix a little of the lag. I just thought someone could bake this into CM7 for us.

And also, the drivers for the Galaxy Prevail, which has the same Adreno Drivers as we do.

Adreno200-AU_LINUX_ANDROID_ICS_CHOCO_CS.04.00.03.06.001-armv6.zip

Here's the Original thread, we could probably get this working tonight if ABCindicate is up to it ;D

Anyone care to try?

READ THE ORIGINAL THREAD FIRST, ITS SHORT, SWEET, AND TO THE POINT.

You probably just have to CHMOD the files to 0755 or 777 to get them working, BUT check your original drivers first for the permissions.

I HAVENT TESTED THIS YET, WORK WAS STRESSFUL, I'LL DO IT IN THE MORNING.

Read about this a few months ago on ocn.
I just assumed that the people who would know should know about this would already know.
Not sure if it's a CM7 fix though.

It is a fix, I believe Req used a modified driver for his CM7 ROM, this would fix Video Playback and GPU Rendering. These are just updated Drivers, they were also used to fix CM7 on the Optimus S and ICS on the Optimus V, I believe it should work. Just check the permissions of the original driver files, and change these files to those permissions, then push through ADB, OR, you could edit them within the ROMs zip, and then flash through CWM.

Moar liek borai and/maybe raverx3x

I was using the drivers in my CM9 testing build back when I was still working on it, and had it integrated into my local copy of CM7, but I don't think I ever pushed the changes.

I blew my Admire up shortly before going to Dubai for a few months of work. A friend has an old Admire that I'm trying to acquire for the time being. If I can get my hands on one, I'll probably resume where I left off.

YOUR ALIVE? I think I can speak for all of us when I say WE ALL MISSED YOU. I don't want to harass you, but I think if you team up with ABCindicate, we can get alot done ^_____^

HAS ANYONE TESTED THESE DRIVERS?

I still haven't.

The drivers caused tons of issues on CM9, but I believe that to be an issue with CM9's support of the drivers. It's been awhile since I've messed with any of it, and I will hopefully be getting a new Admire tomorrow (blew the old one up, had it constantly at 1GHz, and the battery exploded overnight), so I'll probably get back to ****ing about with it.
