Root Possible Full OTA 2.2 SBF

Strife, I am positive it was not the quality of your link. It is the lack of a quality internet connection on my part. I downloaded your link to my X with no issue at all. Thank you for the link.

About the 200MB size off of my download, let me know if anyone else gets that. I want to make sure I have a quality file up there. Anyone not wanting to worry about the speed restrictions you are more than welcome to use my link from my server, it is a direct link with none of that added garbage just grab the file and go. I am going to check to logs to see the size and make sure the file looks good, I did SSH into the box after the upload and everything looked good but there might be an issue. I am at work right now and don't have my a way to check the MD5 if anyone has gotten the file from my server and can verify that would be greatly appreciated.

StrifeJester,

I grabbed a copy of the SBF from your site last evening. I must say the download was amazingly fast! Thank you very much for hosting this. I also double-checked the MD5 checksums and received the same value that DXFan reported earlier:

7eec9143a0872b96c5cb7643d05d1093 *VRZ_MB810_2.3.15_1FF_01.sbf (size: 455,565,821 bytes)

By the way, here is the SHA1 checksum too: 968aef9220e4771da41c705f9dbc3f9b4fa309b7

Thank you again and cheers!

So lets say I uninstalled my keyboard, and a few other things, but im still on OTA 2.2.
I could use this file to put it ALL back and get a clean 2.2 to start with again?
(He asks him knowingly.. eh eh OOH eh!?)

I was feeling adventurous and decided to give this a try...

Oh shit... Got the code corrupt message.

EDIT: Ran it again, came up failed but my phone seems ok. It appears to be back to stock...

Mine says 30.01 also, but I had an error come up when it was doing the bootloader flash. I am not screwing with it any further.

Mine seemed fine until the end. After the phone rebooted and was up waiting for me to activate rsd kept saying "in progress"

yeah it shouldn't cause a problem it's just the loader so as long as it loads we're good. But unless we're just wrong its kind of weird.

So is there any reason not to upgrade to the OTA? I've been holding out for a while but if there's no reason to, I might as well.

I was under the impression that this SBF updated the bootloader, radio, and system. Why are some people not having the bootloader updated? Was it a bad install or is this not really the "full" SBF?

Don't know but frankly I don't care. It's just the boot loader so as long as your booting its fine with me.

Can someone with the OTA confirm the bootloader version number please?
Hold Camera, vol down, and power button. Since they supposedly changed the keys It would seem to me that it must be upgraded or the whole key change didn't really happen, otherwise we wouldn't boot up. ??

OTA here, never have flashed the SBF...bootloader is 30.03
(rooted, deodexed, blackglass, and swype themed)

While I do agree it is not a big deal as to which version of the bootloader one has installed, it is something I'm curious about to see if the SBF is "full" or not. I have not done the SBF yet, so I would be curious as well to know the version of the bootloader of one who used the SBF to upgrade from a previous version of the bootloader. Did it actually leave the 30.01 (or lower) or did it upgrade it to 30.03? While someone is at it, I would also be interested in seeing if the radio was upgraded as well.

I just think it would be helpful to the community to know what is being applied by this file.

Thanks.

Interesting, Airmaxx23. Thanks for checking. To check the radio go to settings -> about phone -> look under baseband version.

Looks like it. I'm running the 2.3.9 leak and have BP_C_01.09.06P. So, maybe the SBF is not updating the bootloader?? I suppose we would need a few more samples in case their is something else going on. If not, then we can at least say this is not exactly the same as the OTA update; not a big deal, but not exact nonetheless.

Yes radio baseband updated. Maybe I'll flash it again and see what happens. If it didn't upgrade the bootloader we should be able to nandroid restore a 2.1 based backup, yes ??? or use the 2.1 sbf and it would still work. If we can do that it would diffently pose some interesting questions.

Exactly! I'm not sure what implications it would have, but may be worthy of some experimentation.
