Root Possible to put on Virgin Mobile?

I have a rooted LG Ally and was wondering if it is possible to put it onto a prepaid service such as Virgin Mobile or Page Plus? Verizon is getting to be much too expensive. I just need to know if it is possible and where I can learn how to do it. I see virgin mobile has an android phone that they are marketing now so maybe that helps too, I don't know. Also I think the companies are both CDMA as well as neither use sim cards.

I have an Ally that I am using with Page Plus Wireless. It works great, just be prepared to spend a bit of time on the phone with customer service to get your phone working properly. I would highly recommend going to Ebay and looking up a seller named Festoons Wireless. He will port your phone number or transfer the service for you for 0.99 and then will even give you a $2 credit on your account.

There's no way I was going to pay what Verizon is charging. I'm now on Page Plus Wireless paying 29.95/month for 1200 minutes/1200 texts/50mb data. Sure, 50mb data is barely anything, but with wifi on the Ally I use that to access the internet etc and save the data only for when I really need it.

I use like 3 gb of data a month and at least 5 thousand txts. If I can use Virgin Mobile Carrier then they have for like 50$ a month unlimited txt and web.

putting your ally on virgin mobile is not legally possible although it would be better then page plus because pp only gives you 50MB with the 1200 plan.

page plus however is really easy to set up on your phone with all features working.(i wouldn't recommend page plus if you dont have WiFi)

Not legally possible? I've never heard anything like that before in my life. Verizon can't require you to stay on their service, and ban you from others; neither can the government. It might be a software or tower issue, but I don't understand how it can be a legal issue.

I think it depends on whether or not you're under contract with verizon. If you're not under contract then you're right, you can use your phone with whatever service will accept it.

Because Virgin Mobile will not accept the phone, the ESN is not registered in there database as a phone they will allow. Wich means you can not SIMPLY take the phone and put it on virgin mobile legally.

Illegally would be to change the ESN to a phone that Virgin would allow. Making Virgin Mobile think its a different phone then it really is.

So yes you can NOT do it legally.

Though some carriers will place the ESN in their database so you can use it on their networks.
