Root Possibly bricked, please help

Used z4 to root, then flashed with liberty. When I load my phone up I can't get past the liberty screen at the beginning. I tried to wipe data and cache, but that didn't work. Anything else I can do? I keep hearing sbf, but am not familiar with it. Could anybody please run me through the process.

Also on the bottom of my screen when I go to reboot it says E: Can't open/cache/recovery/command

Your most likely going to need to sbf since I'm sure it's stock recovery and maderstcok won't work in this case,,,,,here is a link to the sbf and another link with some instructions ,,

Im off to work but will pay attention to this thread best I can and others will help walk you through the process as well ....keep us updated please ...also let us know exactly what steps you went through on your install so we can correct it

It takes a long time for a rom to boot the first time, up to 5 minutes. Are you sure you waited long enough?

I was thinking this as well.

If that isn't the case and you waited long enough then just go through the sbf process. It is a little scary at first but it should fix you right up. :)

Just a thought... Stock recovery allows for Update.zip right? Could Maderstock be renamed to Update.zip and flashed with normal recovery?

If so that would take virtually all needs for SBF out of the equation right...

Also he sent me a PM last night- He's up and running

Interesting thought ....im not sure if it can be made into update zip format ....if so I believe it would have been by now ...also im not sure we can load a file like that without hijacking the bootloader

Wouldn't all .zip file get treated the same way?

In CWM we have the option to install any zip from SD card. In stock recovery the only option is to install update.zip. With Maderstock.zip renamed to Update.zip, I would think stock recover would apply just like a normal update...

If I have time I will test this theory out but it probably won't be till next week.... Actually, I have an old DX I am sending back and want to reformat first. I'll give it a tonight.

Mike sent me a link to the maderstock zip. I added it to my sd via sd card reader, cleared my cache and everything and it worked like a charm.

I was pretty freaked out last night about the thought of my DroidX being bricked though, not gonna lie haha

Thank you for all the replies guys
