Help Post FROYO update problems

I am also having the USB charging issues after the "upgrade" (and I use that term loosely). My phone will only charge on a official LG charger. Great scam LG... Great scam!!!!

I tried a off brand charger my wife got in a cheap combo pack, car charger, wall charger, and case for her Cosmos off of Amazon for around $10.00 and was surprised that it worked okay.
 
I installed the update yesterday, and since then I haven't been able to send text messages. I can receive them, but not send them. I can't send/receive emails anymore either. I called Verizon but they haven't been able to resolve this problem yet. Anyone else have this problem?

Try a factory reset.

So what does the factory reset do? Will I lose all my apps? Can someone go into a little detail about this? BTW I updated to 2.2 on the LG website.
 
When doing a factory reset, it helps to have an SD card and a program like ASTRO File Manager. Use ASTRO File Manager to back up your apps to your SD card. Once the factory reset is done, download ASTRO file manager from the Market again and you can reinstall your apps from the SD card. Lookout is a good antivirus program and will back up your contacts. Your contacts are also backed up through your gmail account.
 
What benefit would I get by resetting and do I really need to do it? How about the folks waiting for the OTA download? Should they reset as well?
 
So I guess with the FroYo update the camera interface was supposed to be changed. to this:

But mine is still the same as when I bought it. Does the Ally not get the changed camera interface?

Nope, same old interface for me to.
 
Well what the hell. I'm also gonna add, even though I love the Ally, the shutter speed is bloody horrible.
 
After loading the Froyo update on my Ally a couple days ago, I'm having problems I can't figure out. Whether I'm trying to text or in the Marketplace, the screen pops up a google search line...then it looks like it "minimizes" like it would on a computer and takes me back to the home screen. Then it continues to freak out and do it all over until I shut the phone down. What can I do??
 
Can't connect to WiFi
Tried the 2.2.1 root route and finally gave up. Updated OTA. Thought I had done a Factory reset right after to fix any of the above potential problems. I tried connecting to my WiFi network twice (checking to make sure I input the right code) and it keeps waiting for the IP address and then when it tries to authenticate, it flips back to looking for the IP address until it disables itself. Trying a factory reset again.

Try broadcasting your SSID if you're not.
 
I posted this in its own thread too, but no responses yet...

I had been listening to m.radioio.com for the last several weeks streaming through the media player. I got the 2.2 update over the air yesterday and now this no longer works! I'm hoping someone can help.

I did a factory reset and it didn't help.

my girlfriend got the 2.2 OTA update yesterday. since then whenever she receives a text or an email there is no sound. the phone vibrates but there is no sound. the only time it makes sound is when a call comes through. i have tried everything i can think of to fix it, tried changing the vibrate mode to never, tried restarts, tried to download a 3rd party messaging app to see if that would fix it. no dice. im thinking that a factory reset is the next option. the only problem with this is she is afraid she will lose data from some of her apps. even if i back up the apps im not sure if she will lose her data. she has the love poems app and has "favorite" poems that she has starred in the app that she thinks she will lose. i told her im not 100% sure that she will get the favorite ones back or not.
 
My launcher and homescreen take forever to come up when I exit an app. Not sure why. It happens with Launcherpro, and LG launcher. I've played with all of the settings that I can think of and it is driving me crazy.

I would recommend the factory reset, but unfortunately the favorite poems and all other apps will be lost. Best advice I could give is to use Appbrain to back up the apps, and make sure all her contacts are synced with her gmail.
 
I still have the 50% bug for cell standby. Yes, I've tried the airplane mode trick, and I factory resetted twice. It still happens :/
 
ok sorry if this has been answered new to messing with the ally only used to my incredible and samsung fascinate. i tried to update my wifes ally using the lg mobile update tool and it downloaded and installed to 70% then froze for a couple hours and stopped now the phone is stuck on a white screen saying downloading do not unplug and thats all i can get to tried everything i could but thats the only screen i can get to is the phone bricked or is their a fix for this? please help or give any advice possible.
