Post here if you got your Att Galaxy Note today!!

Hello from my new G-note!! Love it so far!! Just got home and playing around with it. No complaints at all.

Sales lady at the store scared me cause she said that she had reviewed todays shipments and didn't remember seeing it but found it once she double checked. But loving it so far. Now if i could only get my gf to leave me alone so i can play with it lol!!

switched sims no problem. I ordered the upgrade on my sons number.
********************************
Well, everything worked but data. So I ended up calling ATT. My sim was over 2 years old and could not pick up lte. So I had to get the new chip switched to my number, imei, blah blah blah blah. Picking up 4g now great.

Well someone dropped the F'ing ball on this...from what I can tell, people whose phones shipped via FedEx have already started recieving their phones and those of us who were unfortunate enough to have them shipped via USPS will probably have to wait until Tues. since we have a federal holiday on Monday. What a crock of sh!t. I was told by the store I ordered my phone from and where its being shipped to, that they do not receive mail on Saturdays, so unless they decide to make special deliveries, I think we'er ass out.

The damn power button seems to be in a spot that is easy to hit. I was using camera and hit it, and hit it quite a few times doing other stuff. I'm used to the button on top of the iPhone where it does not get hit by accident.

I'd bet that those people coming from another android device probably love the phone more than those coming from iPhone. I like the phone but the jerkiness is making me wonder. Also, the bloatware stuff can't be deleted. I did use the voice turn by turn navigation and it was awesome.
The only complaint I have is the stuttering between screens. As far as fitting in my pocket...no problems.

The phone sure is big. I currently have an Iphone4 and am gonna spend the weekend deciding whether to keep the Note, or ship it back.

Got to learn my way around the interface first!

Definitely not as smooth as iPhone when it comes to scrolling between pages, but browsing the web is so much better on the note.

I guess we'll see. Have fun all.

I'm extremely disappointed so far, maybe it just my device but this thing is excruciatingly slow.
I've been looking so forward to the Note even ported from Verizon iPhone 4s (which I love Verizon to death)
I previously had an Evo, Fascinate and Droid X so I've used android before.
I'm supposed to be on 4G but the speed test (when it would actually run) is 300k-1.5M. Which is a lot slower than my iPhone 4s. Even on wifi everything slow (web browsing, app download). Its terrible.
Plus the back seems to get a tad warm.

This will be the quickest phone return ever!

I agree the stuttering is annoying

sigh...well that doesn't sound good.

I'm surprised at how much i like touchwiz, first time I've ever used it, like it alot better than sense.

I agree. I've used HTC for the last 3 years, touchwiz is less 'bloated' then Sense. I do miss a few things, but I'll live. ;)

As for the lag a few of you are experiencing... Mine is smooth as butter. No lag or stutter here. Maybe try clearing your memory cache?

As for size... I'm sure it's not for everyone, but... I will never buy another phone smaller then 5". I love this thing! Been using mine for the past three days and haven't stopped to play with it (That's a lie, a total bombshell blonde walked past me yesterday and as much as I love the screen I had to take my eyes off it for 15 seconds to admire something just as beautiful ;) )

Enjoy the new beasts. Cheers.

Don't focus on one slight negative, it's not that bad. There are a ton of good things that far outweigh a slight stutter which is only slightly noticeable when switching between the home screen panels. Otherwise the phone screams. Scrolling within the browser and other apps is buttery smooth.

I live in Dallas and mine was actually picked up this morning in Fort Worth (starting point) and delivered at 830am by Fedex. I'm glad there are Samsung offices in the dallas area :). I heard thim pull up and I ran downstairs and met him at the door.lol I love this phone. It dwarfs my partners Iphone 4s :)

I was using at a restaurant tonight and it caught quite a few eyes. One guy came up and asked what kind of phone it was. :)

On a side note I called to activate the phone and be sure I keep my unlimited plan. It took about an hour. The agent said it couldn't be done. But, she checked with her supervisor and he/she authorized it. But, when I gave her the IMEI # to add the insurance she kept saying I had a Samsung Focus. I was like....no I don't. It's the new Galaxy Note by Samsung. So, I took it in to the store to have a guy look at my account to double check and be sure everthing was correct. He asked..."is that not the focus?? I told him no it's the Galaxy Note. He said, "you're not suppose to have that till the 19th". Do they not ever look at their website?

That is probably true. I am an Android vet but have a household of iUsers that rely on me for upkeep. I also owned an iPhone 4. I don't buy into the 2 camp theory and appreciate good tech wherever it comes from. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. Apple devices are smoother out of the box imo, but Android users with a little knowledge can create that smoothness and actually surpass it. But it does take a little time, like anything.

Well looks like I was wrong about my shipment, it went out for delivery this morning. Im actually very surprised to see that the USPS website has actual updated tracking info and not just a delivery confirmation like it used to.

So I'll be swinging by the store today to pick mine up

I just installed Golauncher ex app from android market for free. All I can say is wow. Many cool themes and ways to change the screens around.
Reminds me of themes for jailbroken iPhones a bit.

my kids just got their new galaxy notes from art store and they were silky smooth and not.jumpy like mine. I figured out what the difference was. Mine had power saver mode on and although it saves power it utilizes less processing lower and makes it less smooth. Once i turned off power saver mode it was as smooth as my iphone4......well...just about aas smooth

So, my unlimited data ($30) and 200 text messages ($5) were dropped after activating the GNote, so 15 mins on phone with AT&T fixed the issue. It's funny how unlimited data plans seem to disappear on upgrades.

After receiving my delivery confirmation that my phone was delivered by the US Postal Service @ 9:30am to the store this morning, I went and and they said they had no deliveries. So long story short, they want me to wait until Tuesday because of the federal holiday so that I can file a claim for a lost shipment, then they will do a fulfillment and give me a phone. I asked them what happens if they dont have a phone to give me, and they said that wont be an issue. Yea, I'll believe them when I have the phone in my hand.

So I hope everyone else enjoys their new phones, looks like I wont be getting one till sometime next week.

P.S. **** AT&T and the USPS.

That is ridiculous! I would call customer service explain what happened and since they don't do Sunday deliveries I would have them note (lol) my account that I could go to the corporate store and pick one up free of charge on Sunday the release day!

Then I would still file my USPS claim!

I did exactly that last night, and because I ordered in store, its upto the store manager of what to do. It was his solution that they will hold a phone for me on Tues. when I can file a claim with USPS. The CSR told me that after speaking with his manager, they couldnt even send me a phone and have it here before next Thurs. Whatever.

The only thing they could offer me was a $100 credit to my account. Better than nothing I guess.

Yeah I agree, the buttons are not in the best spot. I have hit the power button a few times by accident and it doesn't take much pressure to press it. Between the power button and the 4 buttons along the bottom it sure is easy to accidentally hit a button.

I'm hoping that I get less accidental power button hits since I leave it in my pocket upside down. All of my previous smartphones had the button on the top so it could accidentally be pressed when I drop it into my pocket. We'll see though.

I have the boxwave unicolor case and it helps prevent accidental pushes because it requires a bit more pressure. Haven't had any problems so far.
