Post here if your dumping your Triumph for the EVO

The Trumph has overall been a great phone with the exception of a few minor gripes.

1. The back of the phone is just garbage. Never have I had phone that has a back slide off more than this one. One time it simply refused go back on and both Virgin and Motorola sent me replacement covers. That was nice on their part after I kindly asked.

2. The GPS signal in it just sucks. The craptastic Samsung Intercept had a better GPS signal than this thing did. I'll just say it's bad when I have to reset the GPS data with an app just to get the GPS in this thing to work.

3. This could of been just my phone. But before rooting and putting CM7 on my phone, after several months of owning the phone, it started giving me crap about having low storage spapce. Despite having a ton of space free on the phone and 90% of my apps on my sd card, I didn't see how this was possible. I root my phone, and it's fine. =S

But anyway, I got my friend to buy my Triumph, and I'll make him aware of the issues. He's upgrading from an old flip phone so I think he's fine with anything at this point. I'll put the stock froyo back on it, activate his phone, and then root it again and slap on CM7. I think he'll love it. I'm selling it for $150.

I'm looking forward to have this beast of a phone. I been hearing good things about HTC smartphones for a while so I hope this lives up to the hype. And a better GPS will be rad as well, lol.

1. the back isnt perfect, but if you get a piece of tape, roll it up on itself 2-3 times for thickness, and attach it to the cover so it presses against the battery, it will be harder to get on, but you can pretty much guarantee it wont come off accidentily. thats what i do. worked fine.

2. i never had any gps problems and its my navigator every day, fair argument though, lots of people had gps issues.

3. common problem with the stock rom. its highly unfinished. please do NOT let your friend use the triumph with the stock rom. cm7 is THE way to go, your right, he will most likely love it.

mostly posting this so u can see the tip about the battery cover, so he doesnt have that issue at least

ive already dumped my triumph. sold it for $155 on ebay. not what i wanted for it but i guess it was typical of what the other ones were going for. using a dumbphone right now and man does it suck. anyways evo...here i come.

What strikes me as a little odd is the fact that they're not marketing the 3D capabilities of the phone. Like, at all. It's casually mentioned once in one of the mouseover features list, and that's it. Considering the whole 3D thing was the Evo 3D's main gimmick, it seems weird that they're just focusing on the 4G part. Especially considering WiMax is pretty much nonexistent (No seriously, go look at the coverage map. It's pathetic).

Anyway, I am more and more seriously considering getting it. I would much rather get an unlocked Nexus with a T-Mobile Monthly4G plan, buuuut there's almost no T-Mobile coverage where I need it. What I'll do is wait till about 2 weeks after it comes out, then come back here and see if there's any major issues you guys have found (like I should have done with the Triumph). Assuming all's well, I'll sell the Triumph and go for it. Then I'll hope some of you devs figure out how to get rid of HTC Sense (IMO, it looks like it was designed for a cartoon). :)

To me the 3D is gimmicky and not why I wanna get it. The 1.2 gHz dual core processor and 4G connectivity (Las Vegas has EXCELLENT coverage) is what caught my attention.

I also overlooked the 3D as I Probably won't use it often.
I've just gotta get rid of this pierce of shite Samsung Intercept.
Every time I make a phone call on it my heart bleeds a little...

I understand that. I'll probably have loads of fun with the 3D at first, then maybe get bored with it. But still, it's a pretty different feature to just kind of overlook. Glad you have 4G :) I'm in Michigan, which might as well be the North Pole as far as cell coverage is concerned.

Agh i had that phone the day it came out for like a month but then sold it it and upgrades to the optimus v and from there the motorola triumph and then sold it to save up for this one and bout a htc wildfire for $20 (broken Screen) but i fixed it and now im waiting on Htc Evo V it better be good lol

Mine is basically flawless, and I'd be pretty happy to get $150 for it. You can buy it brand new from Amazon, Best Buy, etc for around $220. If someone offered you $200, take it and run.

im also selling my for 250 ive been getting offers of 200 but i want to see if i cant get atleast 225 ugh but im sure everyone else on here knows as well as i that selling this phone for more than 150 is a ripoff...but oh well beacuse where i live there are no other listings on craigslist for the mt therefore i hav no one to compette with and can set my own price:D

Please, let this be sarcasm:what:

I don't know. I know that it was slow, but once you slapped a new rom on it (I can't remember which one I had...) it worked alright. At least on that phone nothing was "broken." GPS always worked. The camera (while it lacked the quality of the Triumph) didn't have issues, nor did it have color distortion.

No. Just... No.

wait...
Hey, want mine?

Sorry, I is dumping my Triumph for an Evo V; besides, I don't miss it that much. :P

Yeah, I guess I can't complain. I use GPS a lot for my job and I can say that this phone has been very good for the GPS aspect. However, 75% of the calls i received went to voicemail because of the lag for the damn screen to light up to swipe to answer. Never had time to slap a custom rom on it. Oh well. Can't wait for my new Evo!

They're probably trying to recoup their reputation from the bad taste that the MT has left in a lot of people's mouths by releasing a worthy phone.

I think im going to dump my triumph for this badboy. the specs are way better then the mt. i mean damn thats what i;ve been waiting for. thanks virgin mobile lol. now only thing thats gonna suck is trying to sell it. $150 sound good? lol

Will go to BB and ask for exchange from MT to EVO V since I have that Geek Squad warranty. Is anybody here have the same plan?

This is funny, I'm just debating on if I should jump ship today or wait it out a few weeks until more is going on with development.
