what would you all recommend to be the best battery efficient setup? sorry a 2-day D INC owner looking for some guidance! my stock 2.2 setup lasts only 3 hours of awake time =(

Read up on rooting. Learn what everything means/does. What I've done that effects battery life is root and install one of kings kernels: KingxKlick Forums • View topic - [KERNEL] [2.6.32.15] [HAVS] [BFS] KiNgxKernel #3/#4
you could also try hydra's kernels: http://hydrakernel.cz.cc/

Not using SetCPU at the moment - trying to see how battery life is with this kernel. With King's BFS #5 on this ROM, battery life was HORRIBLE.

do you have regular screen shots of your set up?

was going to give this a try... but doesnt Kings AOSP hate setcpu?

1075/128 smartass... smooth and nice battery life, stable.
 
I'm running Nils' Business GingerSense 2.1/3.0 Mix (v3.0) with tiny4579's Gingertiny kernel. Have SetCPU using smartass governor with default set to 1075200/245000. Also have 3 profiles set: hot battery; power <20% and charging.

Battery life is the best I've had since I moved to Gingerbread from Froyo. (Last set up was Magnolia 1.4 beta with Chad's incredikernel and similar SetCPU settings and profiles, just no overclocking).

Rock solid with no issues.
