Post your homescreen!

Hi here is mine, loving the N2 so far. I like a clean look but still functional for my needs. It is a work in progress. I have had the phone maybe 3 weeks so far.

Here's mine. Real simple just the way I like it. Got an S4 wallpaper installed. Also, a stock jelly bean clock found in the Play Store. Also, if anyone is looking for a better music app than the cruddy one on the S3, get poweramp!!!! Its great.

Why would we be looking to replace the music player on our s3's when we all have note 2's? ;):D

I found poweramp to be fairly poor. I think too many features was causing it to slow right down when i used it, to the point that playback became stuttered as if it were being streamed over a slow Internet connection.

Note 2 music player and S3 music player are like the same thing right? Anyways, poweramp has zero lag and/or studdet for me. Maybe the new version is better than the one you tried?

Each to their own really. I have the paid version of poweramp which i installed when I got my note 2 a couple of weeks back, so its probably a recent version.
I agree with you on the stock 'mp3' player being a bit crud. However since the play music app got its overhaul last week i think it's much better than it was. And it looks fantastic too. The only drawback of course is how long it takes to download your music (after you've spent a week uploading it lol)!
As far as sound quality goes, the best improvement is upgrading earphones.

Although definitely a vast improvement over the player on the S2, the Note 2's is still quite poor. I had Poweramp purchased from my S2 a couple of years ago and installed it after using the stock Note 2 one for a month. Haven't looked back. Far more control over the EQ, many more customisation options for the widget, easier access to songs, folders, libraries etc. All in all a better offering. I've never experienced playback problems nor heard of anyone else suffering them, so yours sounds unusual - perhaps it's not playing nicely with something else installed, or maybe worth uninstalling and reinstalling?

Not that it matters if you're happy with the player you use, of course!

I agree with you. PowerAmp has an amazing EQ. You can turn the bass up and make any headphones sound amazing! Or if you like treble, turn that one up and bass down. Extremely customizable.

I've never had any issues with anything like that at all . no ads and no "fake" system notifications. what should I be looking for other than the obvious?

No idea, it just says it in the description and the first comments mention it, and it's apparently against Google's rules.
Do you have the free version or paid?

I have the free version. and I just read some of those comments for the first time. very weird. I have seriously not had one single thing pop up. no ads. nothing in my status bar. nothing weird impersonating anything else. not one thing.
