Post your Homescreens

You have to install them one by one? For nova launcher?

Unless the Nova Launcher in the JB preview I'm using is broken, it would appear so. I added the icon pack in the settings, but it did not change all of the icons. I had to manually change all of the ones on the dock. By that time, I didn't feel like editing the others on my homescreen. I also tried adding the icon pack in Go Launcher, and both paid versions of ADW and Launcher Pro, but none of them recognize the icon pack as a theme.

IMHO, icon packs like these only serve the purpose for showing off one time screenshots. Otherwise, not worth the hassle.

In Jellybean, app encryption was introduced, which is currently preventing paid icon packs from being applied. Icon pack developers are currently working together with launcher developers to try and find a work around, but as of right now, they will not work. The current temporary work around is to download a pack, make a Titanium Backup of it, uninstall the app, then restore the backup. Then you are able to use the pack. Hope this helps.

Can't believe I didn't post mine!

Some icon packs for me work, I'm on JB

Anyone know where to find some good generic icons to be used as folder icons? I have 12 folders: Games, Google, Media, News/Sports, Other, Photography, Preferences, Productivity, Reference, Root, System, and Tools. Suggestions anyone?

This is my home screen. Someone on this forum said something about the jelly bean load screen as a wallpaper so I got it. It works well and is very simple. It works just like your boot up screen for the official jelly bean update.

Where do you get all yours from? Just searching around or do you make em yourself?

Most of the icons I get from searching around. Threads like these tend to be the main source, but I also look on DeviantART and XDA.

Once in awhile I will make some icons from converting an icon file (.ico) to a .png or extracting the icon from an .apk file.

Thanks. I'm just looking for some simple generic ones for the 12 folders I have but ones that will work with any wall or theme chooser theme I throw on there. I'm really in to themes (I have 28 installed :D ) but icons aren't so my thing. Really just transparent ones would work for everything I guess but I need ones for my folders rather than each individual app

This ^ is not the case. I use the MIUI Free Icon Pack or the LauncherPro+ M22-3d Icon Pack from Google Play with all my launchers (with the exception of Go Launcher EX which lacks the option for outside icon packs, or if it's there I haven't been able to find it without installing a specific Go theme) and they show up as a theme and apply from within the launchers icon theme options. Both of those icon pack themes work and install just fine on both an unrooted JB and the AOKP JB Preview roms. All of the icons available for any apps that I have are totally themed without issue both inside and outside of the app drawer.

These Icon packs install as an icon theme on unrooted (my boyfriends GSM G-Nex) and custom rom JB (my GSM G-Nex) for:
ADW Launcher and ADW Launcher EX
Launcher Pro and Launcher Pro Plus
Nova Launcher (free). Haven't purchased Prime so cannot test.

People are confusing icon packs with icon collections. An icon pack works just like the two I linked above where it themes even the apps in the app drawer with one click. An icon collection merely allows you to manually edit each icon on the dock or homescreen individually. For example;

An icon collection image can be named anything. Like Playstore.png whereas an icon pack icon must match the app. In an icon pack, the Google Play store icon would then be named com_google_android_finsky_activities_playlauncheractivity.png. I believe an icon pack author needs the true name of an app in order to be able to give its icon the proper name, which is why some apps have the matching icon for the pack and some do not. A perfect example would be the Flash Image GUI app is not skinned in the M22-3d icon pack because no one has sent the author the proper name needed.

Sorry if I rambled, and hope what I said made some sort of sense lol.

Cool. I'm glad its working for you, but it isn't for a majority of users of packs like Lustre and ICS Plates HD and has been stated so by the developers of those packs

That has nothing to do with free icon packs. It only affects paid or donate packs.
