Though I have an old instant read thermometer that I use for my smoker, I ordered a newer model for the kitchen. The unit is much smaller yet the display is much larger and more legible.
It should show up today.

This did just show up and I'm impressed with it. My old instant read thermometer is the size of a shoe box. :) Not really but it is larger with a tiny display and no back light. The new thermometer Is so much easier to read, has a lock so it will hold the measurement when removed from the cook, and is magnetic so it can be kept affixed to the outside of an appliance. They have certainly improved since I first acquired one.

I ordered this bottle opener a while back and it showed up today. Being as me and my buddies are all gun nuts I thought this would be a great bottle opener for the cabin. It is made from a spent 50 cal cassing with a bullet reseated.

For what it's worth.... the spent brass is not a US spent brass for it has barden flash holes instead of boxer. It had a peel off China sticker on it. Didn't know that when I ordered but only my gun lovin' friends will call me out for it.
I was wondering because there is a vet owned company that I frequent that sells patriotic themed items including .50 cal bottle openers.

I have a bunch of stuff, but not a bottle opener from them.

I saw a bunch of veteran made openers on Amazon. They were all painted with different service branch logos which was cool. However, reviews led me to believe that the painting easily rubbed off. I thought simple brass might be the answer especially being as we don't all share the same military past. :)

Getting a new pair of shoes via amazon, the package got lost in the mail forever ago though.
I am starting to question Fedex though, these are going to replace my old slip resistance shoes, to the point of where my old ones have holes in the heel part, so I just put on bandages over the holes for now, but my heels really do kill me every once a while, but they will cure over time.
So yeah I think I had those forever.. :)

My other slip resistance shoes are okay, just slightly irritated my feet veins when my feet do get hydrated. But nothing too irritable of them either, those are the other shoes I wear every once a spell..

was near a Walmart the other day went to get coat hangers ended up getting the hangers and some other random stuff I probably didn't need

After buying a couple of new quality knives I realized just how nice it is to easily cut something. I decided I would buy a set of whetstones to repair and sharpen some of my older knives. I went with a set by Dongrton that consists of a 400,1000,3000, and 8000 grit stone. I received the set Thursday and spent some time Friday sharpening a few of my favorite old knives that were extremely dull. It takes some time but it was time well spent.

For my mother, candle holders over the mantle, bird seed, a chocolate mixture spread.. :) It is her birthday on Inauguration day.

For my sis and myself, just random snacks we shared in the car earlier today.
