If you're thinking, wait, didn't Moody just get a single-serve coffee maker?! You're right! I did, as noted earlier in this thread. I hadn't complained about the one I got, but it left some things to be desired, most notably its inability to accommodate a tall mug, and not having a reservoir that you can add extra water to, then use on a per-cup basis. So she told me this was an early birthday/Christmas present! I just used it this morning and it's awesome! It has several options, such as mug size and coffee strength. The previous one will be donated along with various other stuff as it works fine, and someone can surely get some use out of it.
Thanks, honey. It's on the 8th.Wow happy Birthday!!!!! When is it?

You're right, it is a Keurig. It's very nice, and a huge step-up from what I had bought. To be honest, this has pretty much replaced my giant Cuisinart! I can now make my own coffee very easily, and it can rapidly make additional cups, so if more than one person wants coffee, this works out nicely.Awe @MoodyBlues that's a pleasant surprise isn't it? It's nice! Looks like the Keurig. cool how they make a single server of similar design
I hear you! But the whole reason I wanted a single-serve maker was because of shoulder difficulty lifting the big Cuisinart carafe, both to fill the reservoir and to pour coffee. I needed something I could easily handle when no one else is around to make coffee for me.I like my Coffee pot because i can make a whole pot or single serving size, but i haven't set it to brew automatically yet......... too lazy.
I just started using a reusable filter for my Kuerig, but mine looks a little different than yours. Anyway, check that it doesn't need to be inserted a certain way. Some have an indicator arrow that should line up with the bottom of the Keurig. In the pic I posted, see the little reusable filter on top of the coffee canister? I've fiddled around with using that, with my own ground coffee, as I had with the little previous one-cup maker. But for some reason it's not working out right! My first attempt was fine. But from then on, it's caused assorted problems, like plain water pouring into the mug.... I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
It's really weird, @Unforgiven, because the first time I used it, it worked fine. No problems at all. Then tries two, three and four yielded awful results! Water spraying out the side at one point, clear water pouring into the mug at another, and coffee grounds all over the top of the holder (the place the filter drops into). Clearly, I'm doing something wrong... I've checked and re-checked, but I'm just not seeing what's different from the first time.I just started using a reusable filter for my Kuerig, but mine looks a little different than yours. Thanks, Bear!! Let's just say I'm 21 plus ... a very large double-digit number.... (But I'm still younger than @olbriar! )Happy Birthday @MoodyBlues , how old are you .... 21 ?
Yeah, but we'll ALL be there one day, health permitting!!EVERYBODY is younger than @olbriar.
Hahaaa..... hush now Let us play some more on hereYeah, but we'll ALL be there one day, health permitting!!
I've been blessed with good health all of my life... or perhaps I've earned it. I've labored hard, stayed very active, exercised daily, and have maintained a reasonable diet. I hope everyone will enjoy their silver years as much as I.Yeah, but we'll ALL be there one day, health permitting!!
I met a guy camping last year that made one out of a coffee can. He smoked american cheese and it was fantastic. Let me know how it works.I've been blessed with good health all of my life... or perhaps I've earned it. I've labored hard, stayed very active, exercised daily, and have maintained a reasonable diet. On topic... I got a cold smoking tube to try my hand at smoking some cheese. It uses wood pellets as fuel and is supposed to keep a cooker around 90° degrees which is ideal for cheese. It can also be used to enhance a grilling experience with the flavor of the pellets. Here is the tube I got...
One of my river buddies has the same tube I got. He talked me into trying it. It's only a $12 adventure... surely it is worth that. Now I need a propane torch to ignite the pellets. Mine has suffered too many years in the shed to be useful. I'm anxious to try it... my buddy loved the results but he's smoking on a smaller GM smoker. I hope that is not a factor.I met a guy camping last year that made one out of a coffee can. He smoked american cheese and it was fantastic. Let me know how it works.
