Sigh ... I finally fell prey to the IKEA ... somehow we managed to not go to the "new" Ikea store here in town. Opened in late 2014 I believe. Anyway, still kinda finishing off the living room/dining room area in the house.

I do love the lamp, don't get me wrong. But it will be a long while before I brave that store again. It wears me out just thinking about it.

Is there some sort of stigma about IKEA?
I've never been in their stores, nor shopped online for their products, but I've heard others talk about IKEA as if there is something wrong with it.
I honestly don't know :(

Edit: by the way, that lamp looks cool!

There's nothing wrong with IKEA. it's just super trendy and some of their stuff (I have heard this anyway) is not that high of quality, however I have also heard some is of very high quality. If anything I have been avoiding it because a store opened in town and it was a huge event and there were countdowns and they had to get police from all over town to direct traffic, and there was hour(S) wait in line to get in and whatnot, I just didn't want to get involved with all that. Generally, it's fashionable to pick on IKEA cause it's different. (Personally my biggest complaint is it's fricking huge (the store) and once you're in, you're in for the whole store cause it's a winding path - one way in, one way out.)

From what I saw in person, there is a lot of stuff meant for small spaces - very functional, some of the stuff struck me as very nice for a very reasonable price, some looked and felt like garbage. It's all mostly reasonable priced and if I lived in a loft I'd probably be more interested. Since I have about 2000sqft of living space and a full 2000sqft basement I don't worry too much about stuff built for small spaces.

So it's four-letter and two-digit usernames that just post imagenames we have to click on, like Kaat72 and ella69.

Everyone else we can just enjoy the picture... :D :D ;)
Huh, thought I did post the pics so you can view immediately. What method are the rest of you using? Btw, I'm using the app if that makes a difference.

I think that may be the trick.

Try this next time: once you attach the picture to the post in the app (but before you post) tap on the file name and choose the option to insert the image inline - either as a thumbnail or full size. I think they're just getting screwed up when they're added as straight attachments without being inserted into the body of the post.

For what it's worth, this post was submitted via the app, and the image is still displayed on the web. :thumbsupdroid:

@EarlyMon was kind enough to suggest Imgur about a year ago,as my pic postings were akin to two drunk monkeys doing unspeakable things with a football. :paperbagdroid::paperbagdroid:

Now,it's one of my favorite/go-to 1st installed apps on every device:
For desktop: https://imgur.com/

However, some do not like their Android app, change is not always a good thing,so I recommend the Imgur client

So it looks like the experience of IKEA in the USA is very similar to what we have in the UK - feels like you're on a conveyor belt, being transported through the various sections of the shop. And on the times I've been, the crowds there were immense. Just felt a bit chaotic, not relaxed.
But then, my tolerance for shopping is low. I don't like just wandering through shops. I buy most of my stuff online.

Don't exaggerate :) Ikea is cheap, because they transport economically, in flat boxes, that fit perfectly fine in your car. Because customers need to assemble their own new furniture. And because Ikea produces in large numbers. My unique handmade 'Indian' carpet is exactly the same in Quebec or Madrid. But the quality is fine, for most of the stuff.
Yes, it is crowded, like most stores a lot of people like to visit. I personally pay them a visit in the evenings on office days. Nice and quiet :)
