Post Your Last Purchase

I bought a set of King sized bed sheets, $38.99. For anyone who doesn't already know, that's a GREAT price for a decent set of sheets, & these are soft & comfy!

AND they came in a really pretty shade of pink - bonus!!! The only thing better would have been polka dots :D

Does that work well? What kind of dog do you have? My German Shepherd is a pain to de-shed, she sheds 1 piece at a time, it just doesn't 'gather' well (except on the furniture!). My other one was easy, hers clumped, but that's because she was the best dog ever.

I have two Shelties and a Schipperke. This is for the Shelties as they have uber-dense undercoats. It does work, but you have to be very careful not to be too aggressive as it can damage the topcoat. Using the dematting 'rake' i can get about a dog and a half off each one. ;)

We had a Huskie years ago and he was triple-coated. The soft undercoat came out twice a year in woolly clumps almost like sheep fleece. The top guard hairs shed very little but it was that medium layer that came out as you say 'one hair at a time' that was most problematic. For that we used a shedding blade.

I find Mandarin a fascinating language, the written characters are like a work of art. Is it time consuming to write down?
I'm useless at other languages, beyond what I can recall of 'O' level French and German, but I have massive respect for people who are multi-lingual. It's a great skill.

The: @mikedt .. I wonder the groans emitted when a essay/report is issued requiring students to write in Mandarin..?? [emoji28]

It can be quite time consuming to write hanzi (Chinese characters) well. I'm terrible at it myself. The students in school spend a hell of a lot of time writing it. And they're bi-lingual from the first grade, learning Mandarin and English. That's why I'm here. :thumbsupdroid:

Is it true in the UK schools, they don't even teach cursive writing these days?

BTW it was a good show on Saturday night.

Kind of an odd purchase, but I'm fascinated with these carved Chinese olive pits.

Made in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province I believe.

Every city has it's own speciality. Suzhou it's olive pits and Apple iPhones. Jinan it's buses and men's suits. Chaozhou they mostly make urinals. Shantou it's toys. Christmas is made in Yiwu, Many pianos, guitars, violins, etc are made in Hangzhou, and so on.
