I hope your knife serves you well. I have a similar model that I've used for around 30 years. Mine no longer looks as nice as yours but it still functions as it did day one. I carry this one:

Scotch Brite pads do wonders to liven up the scales on a Victorinox, Briar. I also have a couple extra sets of scales that I picked up on eBay, just in case they're too far gone.
The explorer pattern seems to fit you well.

Thanks for the cleaning tip. I'm just showing honest wear. Far from being trashed. I don't carry change so it hasn't been extremely abused. Great knife. I've had it so long that I honestly don't remember buying it. I also carry a Gerber 06 auto that does most of my cutting. It's been back to Gerber for repairs already. Love the knife but not built like the Swiss. I will try your Brite pad trick on the old girl. She could use a little love. ...thanks.

My wife has surgery on Friday the 7th. (The back half of her bionic ear - started last year) Anyway, I will be home with her (off work) for at least the 7th, 10th and 11th. She requested that we watch the entire Star Wars movie collection. (If anyone wondered why I love this woman...) Well I never invested in the prequels (even though I am not in the hater crowd, I liked the prequels fine.) So we went to Best Buy and picked up the prequel trilogy on Blu-Ray $39.99 Not to shabby.

So I know what I will be doing the weekend of the 7th. ;)
I may need to go grab Rogue One too, I think I liked it better than Force Awakens.

Counting my lucky stars ...

Last night the AC crapped out on me. First bit of luck is that a front moved through Saturday morning and this weekend was glorious sleeping weather. Last night's low was 58F - no AC necessary :D.

Second bit of luck was that it was only a failed run capacitor and not a seized compressor. That's a $40 part (plus the $120 service call) vs. $5k to refit our central air. It's an older system so I know that day is coming, bot right now I can plan for that rather than settle for what the HVAC contractors have in stock.

Did some shopping for the wife on lunch. Yea I am just that darn nice.
Couple new pairs of shoes. (She has a pair already, wanted the other 2 colors, they are her fav work shoes.)

And some table of contents dividers - work project.

That is all, back about your daily grind.
