Two hours? Start to finish? That's amazing!

True, but at least now you have a shiny new water heater that should last a long time! :)
My first water heater lasted 30 years. I'm on my second replacement since... in 16 years. And, l think the remaining time with the present unit is limited. :( The days where quality was designed and produced is over I'm afraid.

Oh, geesh, don't tell me that. :(

My 15(?) year old refrigerator has been giving little hints that it's on its last leg, as is my 15(?) year old dryer. When I replaced its matching washing machine recently, I debated buying the set, but wanted to wait until it actually died. And my water heater...it's at least 25 years old...

I dread buying new appliances EXACTLY because of what you said. It used to be that major appliances lasted decades. Now? Not so much. And they're ridiculously expensive, to boot...

My fridge is old too with little problems. Had a repairman out and he could fix it easily enough except the parts are no longer available. It's along that 15 year or so in age as well.

When my father died and we cleaned out his home, he had a refrigerator in his basement that he kept beer in.
He bought that when I was still living at home.... early sixties perhaps. Still perfectly functional.

Well, I should put in a water softener system as my well water chews through water heaters. As such, I replace every 3-5 years, but since I can do the work myself, it is cheaper than other upgrades. ;) Plus, I've got it set up now where I can quickly isolate the water heater so I don't have to turn off the water to the whole house for a replacement.

I did make a change this time, in that I put it in a pan and am looking for a water alarm so I don't end up with the flooding.

I have a 40ish year old beer fridge that works wonders and has outlasted two new, modern refrigerators.

My son was lactose intolerant which forced us to goat milk or vitamite which were both lactose free. I've never heard of oat cream. Is it also lactose free?

Went grocery shopping this morning. Parked at truck stop and discovered that there was a super market less than a mile away. Actually not even half a mile.
Food cost can get pretty expensive out here on the road. You can easily spend $15-$20 on eating out each day, which is what alot of drivers do..
There are several problems with this. First eating fast food might be quick and easy, but it's extremely unhealthy, 2) it's costly prices at fast food restaurants inside truck stops seem to be a dollar or two higher.
3) burn out, you will eventually burn out on fast food.
So today I went and picked up a few odds and ends.
This actually the second time in a week I got to go shopping. This past Wednesday I went to a bargain outlet food store and a dollar general. Between the two places I spent a total of $55.
Buying the same items at truck stops I would easily spend $100-$125

I bought a 12 volt RoadPro hot pot. Basically its an electrical Thermos you plug in to the cigarette lighter/power out let in your vehicle..
I have five on my truck.
I think this was the last cooking item I was planning to get
