Power and Vol + boot me into something else..

LanceLake

Lurker
I recently flashed my phone to 4.1.2 ([ROM][ODIN][TAR]SPH-D710 GB27 (GB27 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Root/Stock)) and it worked. After I did that however, my recovery screen has a lot less options.

==========================
Android system recovery (3e)

Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply Update from External Storage
Wipe data/Factory Reset
Wipe Cache Partition
Apply update from Cache

I can't get to any kind of backup or restore like I used to have with the earlier version. How do I reset this menu? Can I?

EDIT: My main thing is that I can't clear the Dalvik cache or make a backup of the rom (since CWM says that it doesn't work with the 710).

when you flashed the rom you too flashed the stock recovery if you want cusom recovery flash agat gb27 source kernal version 1. this can be found at sxtp forums under this phone

It will just change the kernel. Its important to note that previous backups from a different recovery won't be accessible. You can only make backups and restore backups from the recovery you are using. For example, a from backed up using clockwork mod won't be accessible using agats recovery. Same goes for TWRP etc.

Thanks. I really appreciate the help.

I downloaded the tar, but I can't figure out where to copy it to so that when I run "Update" on the phone, it can find it.

Where do I put the file? Either that, or can someone point me towards a 4.2.2 one keypress update I can just use? :)

Ok. Sorry about that. I wasn't sure if this was a root issue or not since it was dealing with the kernal.

Its no problem. Honestly, the rom names for this phone confuse me. :D Its hard to tell whats stock and custom. Since you were talking about CWM I assumed it was a rooted rom and clockworkmod recovery. If not, let me know and I'll move it back. :)

It isn't. I can't use Clockwork. The install I did however IS rooted, but perhaps this would be better here as I'm now wondering how to flash the kernal or just simply find a root oneclick for a D710 for 4.2.2

you have a tar file and you are rooted. download mobile odin to your phone place the file on your sd card. open mobile odin, select kernal option from sd card, now flash firmware
