Power button/Case issue or defective phone?

Hey all. I received my Connect from Wirefly yesterday and went ahead with activation today. I noticed the phone keeps restarting and couldn't figure out why until I took off the battery door/cover. It seems, at least on mine, the battery door causes the power button to get stuck and forces the phone to shut down/restart and enter this loop. I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this, if anyone can suggest a replacement cover or fix that might work, or do I simply have to deal with returning the phone for a new one.

your stock battery cover? mines fit real nice and tight there is no room for the power button to even wiggle so yeah either your button is loose or the cover is defective.

Is there anyway you can take a pic of the top where the power button is & the back of the phone & I guess one of the sides so we can see? Oh what about charging? Does that fit in ok?

Just take an xacto knife to it, and lightly shave off some of the side that's around the power button.
Shouldn't take much pressure at all to do what you need.
If you don't have an xacto knife, use a metal file, or knife sharpening rod, or something similar to just lightly shave it.

He better be pretty confident in his hand skills to try this. Will be hard exchanging if he messes up.

Uhm...no.
When you exchange the phone at Metro LG sends them JUST the phone, they don't send a new backdoor, or battery unless otherwise instructed to do so as they're not specifically governed, nor warranted by the in store warranty.
I know all about what does/doesn't come with a swap out. I'm on my fourth one since I got this phone less than a month ago :P|

Adding to that the plastic that's on the back casing isn't really that easy to "shave" so it isn't something like cutting through soft clay where he could easily screw it up. He'd have to put a shit ton of pressure onto it to make a difference big enough to screw himself.

I decided to get my McGuyver on as suggested above and shave it down. The power button seems to have been installed improperly (when you push it down, one side gets stuck, the other doesn't). I took a nail file and shaved it down a bit to give it a little room. I've still got a little more to go, but it works and it's discreet. (I decided not to send it back because I had bought it from wirefly and rooted it as soon as I activated it). Thanks for the help.
