Power Off / Soft Reset

Problem! my Droid Razr M will not turn off . it just does a soft reset when I push the power button and then click Power Off /OK. What can I do to stop this? Would like to turn the phone off

Let the battery go dead? I know that isn't much of an option but it is one. Maybe try a Factory Reset also in hopes of things going back to normal.

Mine does that occasionally, too. VZW actually replaced one due to that and other issues, but the replacement does it as well.

i know this is an old thread, but with mine i found that if you do the same thing as the soft reset and then push the power button for a sec or two before it powers back on, it stays off
