Pre order from radioshack update

And ended up saving an additional $13 on top of the $20 lol!
WooHOO me too, I just received the same email, on the first day I ordered but there was some sort of glitch on their end and they had to cancel that order so I just reordered it on the 23rd instead. I just got off the phone with a very courteous and quite knowledgeable on the subject sales rep. Long story short is that they are crediting my original 2nd day shipping costs. Even with taxes along with the $20 code the phone still cost me less than $300 shipped to my door. Now that's the way to do business!!! Get it on the 4th and my month restarts on the 5th anyways, perfect timing for me.

I received the exact same email.

I would accept their offer on 2 conditions: (1) a guaranteed Monday ship date and (2) overnight shipping as opposed to 2-day.

If RS is so sorry, why don't they offer these two conditions or else offer some sort of extra discount to show they are truly "sorry."

I don't want support vendors who are not honest about their inventory. For RS to ship 2-day delivery would just speed up delivery by perhaps one more day.

I just don't think they are all that serious about apologizing!
But this wasn't Radio Shacks fault, it was Virgins. And apparently for the hit on their reputation I'm sure that they're making Virgin pay for the expedited shipping by lowering their cost per unit. A lot of other vendors would have just kept the money and not bothered passing it on. I doubt BestBuy would have done the same. Also it would be impossible to guarantee a Monday ship date as that's when they are getting fresh stock. I would hazard a guess that these units will have Virgin branding unlike the preorders. And to be honest RS is the only game at the moment. Virgin pushed their ship date to the 1st then the 4th and now everybody's order is showing backordered. Sure doesn't sound like it's the Shacks fault.

You are right that it was Virgin's fault for not making the timely delivery to RS.

However, my point is that RS actually showed "in stock" on their website when I placed my order. I have a real problem with that!

100% shack's fault - their stores got stock in and they disregarded pre orders that were supposed to be shipped to store - what company would take preorders write the name of the customer at the warehouse on the product and then tell the customer - sorry the one with your name on it isn't here. This is a real small release in the scheme of things - imagine if the Apple store did this with Iphone 5?

Communication with the customs issue was poor by both companies - but it was the phone arriving in stores without regard to the pre orders that is unacceptable.

You know what i find odd is that this section/thread for the evo V from vm is hoppin!! Yet at the same time boost was suppost to release the evo design same day yet i go to the evo design section of the forum and it is dead! LOL i guess nobody wants that phone ?

The only thing discussed in that section are people that allready have the sprint evo design that's been out for a while but not any mentions about the one for boost.

And it has been delayed just the same as the vm phone for same reasons yet their is not a single discussion about it.

I keep coming over to this thread to see whats going on with the evo V because nobody is even talking about the delay problems for the boost one or if anyone has even rceived 1 yet at all anywhere.

That is because Virgin has better plan prices for the same service plus the Evo V is better IMO

The Evo for Boost isn't really in demand. Most of my customers for Boost Mobile aren't tech savvy nor do they really come to forums. Most have stated they want an Android just because they've seen someone else with one or a commercial showing one. I've had people inquire about the HTC Evo only because they've heard of the name somehow. They don't even know any specs, only that it's an HTC and it's 4G.
This is just my deduction from the year I've been working as a dealer.

Considering most people are on Boost, That sums up the smaller population of us geeks on VM! LOL

Virgin Mobiles plans reflect people who are more likely to text and and use data than to just talk all day. Not to mention we got the dual core with 3D capabilities for the same price as Boosts single core, no 3D capability Evo. Virgin Mobile knew they were losing customers for not having more "Up to date" handsets.

I will be getting that Evo 4G eventually too but my hype was around the Evo V.

the unlimited plan for boost is better (shrinkage) and i notice a lot of mexicans get boost for the international plan.

Not really, you're gonna be paying $270 more over the course of 18 months compared to VM. And that's only if you are on time EVERY time. I know I forget to top up on time sometimes.

I'm one of those that got cancelled after ordering on Thursday. I, too, got one of those "we're sorry" letters informing customers to reorder and RS would ship 2nd day expedited shipping at no extra charge.

I finally decided to go with RS since I had one of their $20-off coupons applied to the order--and the customer service rep I talked to also let me stack the $10-off coupon for subscribing to their newsletter.

So $30 off the price of the phone made it a no-brainer! :)

The international plan paired with unlimited talk are Boosts selling points. If you need neither, Virgin Mobile is the better deal.

Only thing that bugs me is that it's $15 for hotspot on VM and only $10 on BM.

bought two from Bestbuy (one for wifey also) and BOTH still have sprint mark on the front. I LOL'd. Should I return them? Are yours Virgin mobile marked? Would those marked Virgin Mobile have higher hardware revision (mine says 0002)

Well I would go ahead and keep 'em unless there's any problems with them. Especially with crapple trying to stall HTC shipments again. The phones will be identical minus the logos, and nobody here has seen a VM branded phone yet. VM CS told me that the next batch will be VM branded.
