So, with all the speculation of release dates and announcements, how are YOU going to get YOUR shiny new Samsung Galaxy Nexus??

I've never pre-ordered a phone from VZW before nor have I ever picked up a phone on release day, so this will be a new experience for me either way I decide to go. I hate not having the instant gratification of being able to go to the store and get it THAT day and I think waiting for Fedex to pass by my building everyday after I pre-order would make me sick. Then again, I've heard that pre-orders often show up a day or two before in store availability.

Any ways, how is every one else going to get there's?
 
I guess it depends on where it is available too. I preordered my Droid X at Best Buy and they had it ready for me on launch day. So i'd try that if possible. If i can't, i suppose i might preorder online so that i don't miss the phone on launch day at a store.
 
I pre-ordered my DX but was going to be on vacation for release day. They offered to have it sent to the hotel. Switching over from AT&T, I thought Verizon was so great! They were going out of their way to get me my new phone on launch day!!

When I got the bill, I found I paid like $30 for that service. Still great to have it on day one, but it wasn't the gift I thought it was.
 
Haven't decided yet. If I knew supply was sufficient I'd likely choose to pick it up in store. But I loathe new phone release lines and the chance of not scoring one :::remembers the iPhone 3G experience and shudders:::
 
The way Verizon has been, I wouldn't do a phone pre-order from them.

There is absolutely no reason what so ever! These phones will be available on launch day. All you have to do is get there a little bit early.

And with what vzw did with the botched DROID Razr pre-order is any indication, well that gives you your answer right there.
Order a phone on Oct 27th, and then let people know a few days later that they're phone will ship on the Razr's launch date of Nov 10th, and hint at it not arriving till Nov 14th? Why on earth would I give you my money that early for? Especially when it doesn't even put the phone in my hands earlier then the actual launch date!

Sorry Vzw, you get my money after I tinker with my new toy in the store, and then are able to leave the store with the phone in my possession.
 
Go to the store. They won't sell out. The demand for this phone shouldn't be that high. Even when I got my droid x, (which had more hype behind it) there were still enough phones in the store.
 
i preordered my dx and got it on launch day, but i got it at a discounted price using my new every 2 and ordering it online came with a discount at the time, i payed about 150 or so for a brand new dx.... so i was happy, but this time, i think i will go into the store, depending on the release day.
 
yea, us tech geeks are the only one's that will be lining up on release day. I'll stroll into the store, hold the GNex, Razr, and Rehound in my hand and then make my well informed decision and get the GNex.

This will probably be course of action also. HOWEVER, if the Gnex is released in stores on black Friday, I have no qualms of being there at midnight just to be one of the first. I've done my fair share of store-front, @ss frozen, midnight stake outs for my tech toys :D:D
 
I'm totally waiting for you guys to try it out first! I want to read reviews of battery life, daylight visibility, radio quality and general feel of the phone. I strongly suspect that I'll buy it but I am not going to jump the gun on this one like I did with the (returned) bionic.
 
"VZW just had a live Q&A online and I asked about the release of the GN. They said a release date will not be given until the day the phone is released or a few days before it is released, so it SEEMS like there will be no pre-order...
This actually goes along with the data in the leak as it says Nov 15 is when these promotional ads can be used"

Taken from the comments in the link posted below, so it looks like there may not be a pre-order if the leak is true.

Pre-order is a must for me - the online stores have the GS2 and IP4S > $100 cheaper than I can get the locally, it'll be a while 'til any of my local dealers even carry the GN (regional Aus).
 
I have seen enough video on this baby to pre order.. I'm good with this baby for 18 months, easy.
 
I'm now pretty sure I'll be pulling the trigger on this one. Does Verizon usually deliver the same day as release on pre-orders? Or is it different for each phone release?
 
I got mine a day early on the DI preorder. Wednesday if I recall. To heck with those silly stores.
 
Preorder, That way you'll be the 1st person on the planet to touch your device unlike the ppl at the store who activate it for you (puttin there fingerprints all on it)!!!

No way...reps are not allowed to touch my phone...! I tell them upfront that they will not be activating my phone...lol

same here, i just tell them give me the box and phone, add it to my account, i will call and have it activated while im driving down the road (*i will have someone with me so i can actually do that haha*)

but no one will open that box but me! rest assured!
 
The only reason I'm not in a VZW store picking this up at 9am, would be if I start hearing about an awesome Costco or other store with a crazy good bundle. The Bionic one was money, so I might keep an eye out for a bundle similar to that.
 
I am always a little skeptical with pre-ordering. On one hand I might get it earlier, but on the other hand I might get it later and i've been patient enough holding onto my OG Droid. It's barely alive running CM7.1 :/.
