Prez Candidates

Given all the outrageous things your guy says about others, why should he be immune to such criticism?

He's been raising a mob of brownshirts who try and shout down and intimidate anybody who disagrees with him. He tries to convince people that two major races/religions are destroying America and need to be stopped. He's promising to change the law to make it illegal for news outlets to criticize him.

Wake the hell up. Voting for this madman is to be complicit in the rise of an authoritarian
Don't worry, I know I'm not voting for Trump. Possibly Rubio but certainly not Trump anymore.. I initially registered to vote FOR Trump but changed my mind about voting for him these last month or so.. [emoji12]

No worries there, I was addressing @jefboyardee

It's looking very much like we're going to see an attempt at a Crubio ticket now. If one of the two drops out and backs the other, they can get enough votes to win the remaining contests. Trump only has a 90 delegate lead right now. Pretty small given his yuge boasting.

Republican 'Dump Trump' effort struggles to gain traction

A plan to block Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump struggled to gain traction on Friday as rival candidates rejected it, while Democrats reveled in the chaos they hoped would boost their chances of keeping the White House.

The country's top elected Republican, House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan, said he was not interested in an effort to draft him into the White House race.

I've said here somewhere before: if it was up to me, I wouldn't choose Trump either. But it's not up to me, so I have to recognize what he's accomplished, even how dems have apparently switched parties to vote for him... I can't ignore that. Try as they might, the other contenders have a a nearly impossible task in the short time ahead of them. And a concerted GOP effort effort to dump Trump will all most certainly backfire, causing people like me to say the hell with voting.

I think Trump is a goof, but if he turns out be our only chance to beat the Hildebeast, I'm behind him all the way.

Here's one for you...

Psychologists and massage therapists are reporting ‘Trump anxiety’ among clients

Whitney Royston, 30, a Republican who works as an event coordinator in Littleton, Colo., said the prospect of a Trump presidency scares her because “he’s a side show. He doesn’t have anything to say. All he does is tell other people to shut up. If he were to become president, I fear that our world would come tumbling down.”

To divert herself, Royston said she fantasizes that “someone will pop out of left field” to become the Republican nominee.

Wait, you think those people crossed over to vote for him because they want him to be President?

You must be new to open primaries.

Makes sense to me...

Cruz’s associates said that the strategy could mean Cruz ends up playing the spoiler in a state where he’s polling in distant third place, ultimately set up a one-on-one showdown with Trump for the Republican nomination.

The campaign is doing what it sees as necessary to turn the Republican contest into a two-man race, said a senior adviser to Cruz who requested anonymity to speak candidly. That hardball approach includes trying to erode support for opponents such as Rubio, a first-term senator from Florida.

Tonight was a bad night for Trump. It's clear where Carson's voters went, and Rubio is hemorrhaging voters, mostly to Cruz. I think the tides might be turning for Cruz.

'I want Ted one-on-one': Donald Trump calls on Marco Rubio to drop out of race

"I think Marco Rubio had a very, very bad night," Trump said. "And personally I'd call on him to drop out of the race. I think it's time now that he drop out of the race. I really think so. I think it's probably time."

Trump's call echoes that of another presidential candidate, Ted Cruz, who has urged the non-Trump candidates to drop out so that a coalition can form against the Republican frontrunner. Rubio, a Florida senator, has only won one state — Minnesota — while Cruz has also notched victories in Texas, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Alaska.

"You got to be able to win. He has not been able to win. And I think that it's time that he drops out," Trump said.

The race for the Republican nomination isn't ending anytime soon

With the GOP race in chaos, establishment figures frantically are looking for any way to derail Trump, perhaps at a contested convention if no candidate can get enough delegates to lock up the nomination in advance. Party leaders — including 2012 nominee Mitt Romney and 2008 nominee Sen. John McCain — are fearful a Trump victory would lead to a disastrous November election, with losses up and down the GOP ticket.

Who Is The Real Ted Cruz?

You may recall in a recent Fox Business Network debate that Cruz, in Mr. Haney from Green Acres voice, declared to one of the moderators, “The opening question [moderator Jerry Seib] asked — would you bailout the big banks again — nobody gave you an answer to that. I will give you an answer — absolutely not.”

What else would you expect a scoundrel to say who had secretly secured big sweetheart loans from Goldman and Citibank — by leveraging his retirement accounts –– to fund his 2012 U.S. Senate campaign. Loans which the Calgary Ted conveniently forgot to disclose to the Federal Election Commission. These are the very retirement accounts that he said he and his wife said he cashed in to fund his senate race. In other words, Ted lied.

Anybody with some intelligence and a little knowledge of how margin loans work knows that there is nothing shady about that loan.

Please have some dignity and stop repeating the debunked talking points that Trump feeds you

I'm just posting relevant links I find and short excerpts from within. I'm trying to provide opinions from all sides to show how unusual this race is. I am not committed to Trump. As I've just said here, if it was up to me, I wouldn't choose him. But I accept that he's way on top tight now and if he wins, I'm behind him.

You're not helping anything by accusing contributing posters.

Of course if all you are doing is copy and pasting from other websites... It's questionable how much you are contributing.

Especially if nobody (including the original poster ) ever reads the links.

For those who would back Trump if he did get nominated. I'm curious as to how far he'd have to go to lose your support. Is there a republican policy line in the sand that he could cross? Criminal charges? Convictions?

Well.. He's certainly crossed mine, Lol

That's the thing... At the very least I want any presidential candidate to uphold the constitution.... But a candidate that is campaigning on promises that are anti-constitutional fails that test.

After that then there are policy areas to consider.. And the integrity of the candidates, but we've got nowhere near those yet.
