Pricing and Release Date in the US...

Has anybody run into any rumors or articles as to when the actual release date and pricing will be announced for this? I figured we'd start a separate thread from the general discussion thread in the Samsung forum.

Still waiting to see how much this thing is going to be and when it'll actually be available for purchase. All the rumor blogs I've read have mentioned end of March, but I haven't seen a formal announcement yet.

Maybe they mention it at the S4 event tomorrow?

It is really vexing that no prices or release dates have yet to be announced.

I agree. The longer the delay, the less steam they'll have on actually selling this thing. It won't change my mind on buying it, but it may change others minds.

Ouch! If those are Negri prices they have completely lost their mind. They do tend to sell devices at a higher cost but that right there is ridiculous.

I've been Googling this for over a month. Everything I can find pointed to a late February launch date. Obviously, that's come and gone. Still no word.

As for pricing, this can't realistically be over $300. Even the 10.1 runs about $500 new. If pricing is too high, I'll just have to turn to the N10. The S Pen feature isn't worth the extra couple hundred to me

I'd even settle for purchasing a refurb Note 10.1, if they price it too high. The latest article I read targeted late March, while Australia (since they opened a Samsung store) was saying they'd have it for sale early April. I'd love to get this before Easter. It would be great to lounge around in the den and browse on the tablet, rather than running to my room to browse through the internet.

That leaves you with a week left. Just like waiting for Note 2 launch day..... patience is not one of my strong points.

For me, patience is one thing. Radio silence is another. As of now, this is like the fabled Wireless charging they were supposed to produce for the S3. That never materialized and I had to go "off-brand." Clarity is not one of Samsung's strong points.

With the UK launch being projected for April, now I'm wondering if US launch will be in May. Granted, the wifi only version doesn't necessarily have to wait for provider approval, but definitely frustrating not knowing how much to set aside from the budget. No matter what, I'll still be paying a little money out of pocket, once it's available at Best Buy, but I still prefer being able to budget. After they announced the S4, the hype regarding the Note 8.0 is dying off. Not sure if Samsung really intended on making money off this thing. The pricing rumors just seem to point in that direction. One thing is for sure: If they price this thing above what the Note 10.1 currently sells at, I might just blow off the Note 8.0 (despite it being the perfect form factor for my needs) and go with the Note 10.1.

Yeah, that does seem to be lacking on Samsung's part. Maybe they're like that now, since they've jumped up to the #1 spot since the S2? In other words, maybe they just feel like they are so popular that they can let hype die out and people will still purchase. Not sure I can say I'd be in that crowd.

I hope it's not this high! This should be around $350...maybe $400. There's a mint Note 10.1 on CL in my area for $300 and I am having a hard time wanting to wait, especially if the release pushes out to the summer.

Right there with you. If the US prices end up being that high, I'll just find an open box Note 10.1 at Best Buy and use my gift cards on a 32gb version. Heck, I'd even consider a refurbished Note 10.1 32gb at a discounted price over an overpriced Note 8.0.

The worst part is a I had a Note 10.1, sold it to get a Nexus 10 as I was mesmerized by the higher resolution but the Nexus was buggy and wished I had my Note 10.1 back. Then the news of the Note 8 broke and I was hooked but the long delay and the rumors of a high price are ruining it for me!

Even better, Samsung's Twitter reply to my questioning their promotion of the product's features when release date and price hasn't been announced, "Thanks for your input. We always appreciate feedback from our customers."

Wth? I would have been happier with, "price and releasing is still to be determined" than the generic pr response...lol
