Help Primary shortcut help needed!

Convinced

Lurker
I have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 from T-mobile. I have messed up my primary shortcuts and cant get them back the way they were. My problem is that every post I find for this deals with the item that is needed being in the Application area. My shortcut I need back is on my home page screen. I cant get it into the apps area and I have tried everything. Can anyone help me?

Sylvia :o

i think the best thing to do is to factory restore your phone and you will have everything like it used to be when you first got it. other than that i have no clue sorry.

What is the name of the application for which the shortcut is missing>

I confess I cannot understand most of what you wrote. Can you repost in more detail?

Late last night as I was still fiddling around with my phone I managed to get the message app back into the primary shortcut bar like it was. I don't know exactly how I did that either. Sorry for confusing you. I tend to do that as my husband will attest to. Now if I can just figure out why some of the apps on my phone are grayed out and tell me they aren't installed on my phone.

Sylvia

Thanks for the idea but I have spent a very long time organizing my phone and I have bought quite a lot of apps for it. System restore would wipe all of that out. If I have to live with the mess I have created then i will do that.

The apps that are grayed out, are they on your phone or the external sd card? If they are on the sd card, move them to the phone.

wow, i forgot.
This happened to me before...
I had a bunch of apps saved on my SD card and whenever my phone didn't have the SD card in it, the apps would be "uninstalled".
So the best thing to do is to just move them to your phones storage using root explorer, or Astro.

hey, if you bought the apps from the market, your Google account will automatically restore the apps, but it wont restore the data. So wiping your phone would delete everything but you can always get the apps back because your google account syncs all the apps that were purchased.
