Help Probably A Silly Question; Storage For Apps.

I just learned the S2 has an app storage of 2GB only. I am an app guy, and I'm wondering if I can extend the app storage by using an Micro SD card. I mean, I want to have an Micro SD cards for apps and just apps.

I guess I am asking if you can install apps in the Micro SD card itself...

Yes some apps let you run them from an sd card

most apps now coming out can go to SD card. I have a lot of apps and my internal memory for apps is still at 1.7g

Out of interest how many apps are you expecting to have?
The biggest apps I've got so far have been Navfree (54.11mb) and Third Blade (51.61mb) and I've something like 140 apps using up just over 1GB so far.

Once an app is installed, go to Settings/Applications/Manage Applications and select the app from the "Downloaded" list. On the screen that opens there will be an option to "Move to SD card" if the app supports it.

Thanks a lot for your answers guys! I will get a Micro SD soon and move as many apps as possible to it. Does it matter if it's a "HD Micro SD card"? I don't know much about cards sadly...

On my iPhone, I have over 8 GBs of apps, and I have around 352 apps installed on it. Ideally, I will be able to have almost the same amount on my Android. :) My biggest apps on my iPhone take over 100 Mbs. I think the biggest one I have right now I have takes around 500 MBs.

All cards 16GB and above are SDHC, and the Galaxy S2 supports the standard fully so no worries. Buy recognised brands from reputable sellers and you can't really go wrong. The silly-low prices seen on eBay can look attractive, but too often the reality turns out differently.

What sort of apps would be taking up 500mbs. If they are games e.g. Nova or dungeon hunter which are about 500-900mbs they will install a small amount on internal storage and then the rest on the sd card or flash memory
