Root probably an easy way to do this

Well of your on an adopted rom I beloved the pound functions don't work u have t flash a sense rom to make changes.... banner?... do u mean your splash screen
 
I am using Fresh 3.5.0.1 and I am talking about the banner on the lock screen that says Sprint...would love to customize that.
 
Hmm. Have not done that one.. and fresh is a sense rom... Maybe the code is bad. .....becausr right after you press the last pound your phone shoud pick up the cmd. And prompt you to the next step or question as to what your trying to do....u do not hit call or any thing for that matter
 
There is a much easier way to do this that involved adding an edited file to the data.data folder. I will try and find the link.

this "how to" worked like a charm... i did have to add com5 to the list of ports as it stated... after dialing ##diag# it automatically goes into diag mode, no other key presses needed... and, after writing to phone, it automatically rebooted and presto, banner was changed... going to dwell deeper into this qpst prog... seems very similar to cdma-workshop...
